We are a weird lot sometimes. This guy was popular with some because he had a (shit) song, even though he contributed very little truth be told (bad injury, I know, I know) yet Gross who didn't have a catchy (shit) song and contributed, err quite a lot, was being questioned all the time by loads on here.....

Good luck Jacob, a case of what might have been, although nowhere near the same level of 'crying shame' that was Mweupo.
What a load of nonsense. Gross is rightfully celebrated as probably our most important player in the PL era and we were all gutted when he left. Gross was only questioned when his form dropped, as is par for the course as a first team regular.

Moder is appreciated as a solid professional who had shocking luck with injuries, but is no longer at the level required. He's popular because people sympathise with him and he always behaved impeccably.

Good song, shit song had nothing to do with any of it.

I hope it works out for him. Seems like a good guy.

I think it's often easier for the slightly older guys to be 'the model professional' due to their maturity and experiences. Jakub was one of those youngsters when he came to us who has always been the model professional and mature beyond their years (see AliMac, Dunky, Tariq, Wee Billy, Goodnight, Hinsh and Solly)

Good luck to him

Always liked Moder but after his horrible injury was never part of the automatic starting eleven unless we were down on numbers through injuries or suspension when he was then called upon and despite any consistent run of games he always gave of his best .
Good luck Jacob and thank you 🙏

A sad thread title update to do. I liked the guy a lot. When he came on at Forest with us defending a lead and Dunky in the early bath he was absolutely immense. That will remain one of my favourite days out and games of football and is how I want to remember his time here.

There are worse places to be than Rotterdam too.

I've always thought that Jakub is a great footballer and a very honest, balanced and mature individual, I really hope he does well

And hope (and believe) that we have better
Indeed. He’ll always be welcomed back to the Amex. Feyenoord is the club I follow in the CL now above all others. But from a very brief look at Diego Gomez, I would suggest that we upgraded in January in Moder’s position.

Had a good game tonight, played the full 90. Won 11 duels out of 14 and all four tackles attempted
There's a good player there. I'm not surprised he's excelling in the CL knockouts. He just needs to keep up that run of fitness he never had with us and he needs a manager who knows what to do with him and values those short range poked and prodded passes and the shift of weight in tight spaces to get the team up the pitch that he brings

He'll be back in the Premier League in a few years, but needed a move to a club where he'd get to play regularly to get back to full fitness and form.

Before the injury I watched a couple of Poland games and, with Lewandowski on the pitch, he was taking direct free kicks for them.I

Really thought he was going to be a key player for us.

Delighted for Jakub, particularly as his Dutch renaissance is being covered in a particularly amusing fashion on the sportwitness.co.uk website, who have clearly not been using high end AI to translate a Dutch journo's comments into anything approaching English :lolol: :

That praise also continued over at Voetbal International, where journalist Pieter Zwart has insisted that the club have finally found their replacement for Mats Wieffer.

“The 25-year-old Pole triumphs in 11 of the 14 duels he has entered into. The variation in those who won duels are hopeful,” he said.

“Moder has the top speed to find out players with a tackle, triumphs with his 1 meter 88 in four head matches and Remarkably often put his foot in between at the times that Milan threatens to pick up a falling ball.

“He effortlessly bridges large distances, which is a handy feature for an inspector."

Go, Inspector Jakub :rave::facepalm:
