Jade Goody - Apologies Due

my mum is riddled with cancer,she has been fighting it for a year,had all the treatments,but just after xmas,we were told,their was nothing else they can do,its a waiting game.Tbh i have no time for jade goody,how she has used her illness to make money beggars belief,i cant even bring myself to even read what shes been spouting

My mum has just passed away with liver cancer 2 weeks ago, as you probably know the whole process is a personal thing and each of us deals with the situation differently. If Jade decides to air it in public then so be it, but my personal opinion and I agree with you is that it is a very private thing and I wouldn't want to be showing this all in public.

As for the character assasination of Goody being a racist I think people should cut her some slack, she is a dumbass idiot whom said a few wrong things with cameras on her 24x7 she was very wrong to do that and got castigated at the time, but no-one (I presume) thinks she is an out and out racist like say Nick Griffin or members of extreme right wing groups like Combat 18.

Goody's symptons are worse than my mums, she will die, at age 27 (28 if she is very lucky) everything else, money gained from tabloids, minor racist comments (which was really just bitchy woman talk, like they do) to Shilpa Shetty is small beer and irrelevant.

I wonder if the whole rasist thing brought on the cancer. The shock of it to her system. I had a friend who i worked with and she fell over quite badley and within weeks she was diagnosed with cancer and within a year she died.

Cancer is a horible thing to watch someone drift away with.

Sorry for your loss too, my mother died of complications from Cancer so my sympathies. She was however, in her 70s. I agree with your comments about Jade Goody, I can't help feeling that a lot of people resent her because she's made a fair some of cash without being that smart but that is true of more than a few people.

Sadly there are an enormous number of people in our society that are like her, Jordan, Victoria Beckham, Kelly Brook, Paris Hilton etc talentless, brianless, vacant nothingnesses whom bring nothing to me and you but irrelevant drivel, however I think that possibly is the fault of the tabloids themselves and maybe the society that we/they want to create. Eventhough Goody is one of these people you would have to be heartless not to have sympathy with her, because at the age of 27 she is not going to see 28. No-one, except arguably mass murderers deserves that.

That people would be given more years for being nice is an idealistic religious concept, but it's also said to work the other way - with God 'calling in' someone because they have been a good person.

I don't call that sad I call that making the best of what you have. The culprits are the people who read tabloids and lap up every word. I have always thought Reality TV to be utter dross but not unlike, in many ways, religion, it's (to quote Karl Marx) the opium of the people.

It wouldn't have happened that quickly. Cancer is caused by a genetic mutation. In the case of cervical cancer, mostly this is by the HPV virus.

There's lots of evidence arguing for and against whether cancer can be worsened by levels of stress / attitudes towards the condition, but there is no evidence at all that cancer is caused by stress.

Who knows, I do not work in the medical service but from what I have learnt recently is that cancer is in all of us but our immune system normally fights it off. However, when our immune system gets weak we can no longer fight it off and the cancer cells mulitply. The things that can make our immune system weaker is stress (which I am sure she felt after the Shilpa Shetty incident, when she was a national hate figure), poor diet, alcohol intake, tobacco etc. It could be anyone of these things or something else that triggered it off.

However, being nicer is not one of these things that caused it. If that was the case why isn't Peter Suttcliffe or Ian Huntley for example, dying in this agonising way, far my deserving candidates than Goody.

Sorry to hear about your Mum simmo. My Dad died of mesothelioma a few years back (asbestos related cancer). It was sudden and very hard to watch. I feel for you and wouldn't wish it on Jade Goodey just for being a publicity whore.

As for the above, the expression "don't complain about the traffic, you are the traffic" comes to mind. As you say, if people didn't lap up stories about these nonentities in myriad magazine and newspaper articles, they would not get paid a penny. So the buck stops with us, the British public. We get what we deserve.
