Sorry to hear about your Mum simmo. My Dad died of mesothelioma a few years back (asbestos related cancer). It was sudden and very hard to watch. I feel for you and wouldn't wish it on Jade Goodey just for being a publicity whore.

As for the above, the expression "don't complain about the traffic, you are the traffic" comes to mind. As you say, if people didn't lap up stories about these nonentities in myriad magazine and newspaper articles, they would not get paid a penny. So the buck stops with us, the British public. We get what we deserve.

Good post. The expression "you are what you eat" also seems pertinent.

Personally, I can't relate to "we deserve" in this case, because I didn't watch Jade Goody or Shilpa Shetty - yet had to endure the stories about them on the news. I'm still happy to have missed what the fuss was about, but would have been equally pleased to have missed the bits of news that about them. Can I still complain about the traffic though?

Exactly as others have said, it's not her fault she's like she is and it's not her fault she's famous because of it. When you have a father who was a junkie in and out of prison all the time and a mother like... well i think most people have seen and heard her mother, it's hardly surprising she's the way she is.

To be honest I detest the whole celebrity culture, especially when people have done nothing to actually become a celeb in the first place. I know there are exceptions to the rule but at the end of the day it's mostly the people who read The Sun, The NOTW, all the so called 'celeb' magazines, watch and pay to vote on BB that created someone who is rich & famous who really should not be.

I don't understand it myself, i think it's mostly a bird thing? Who gives a f*** what the Queen, Obama or even Becks has for breakfast, let alone some chav who was on TV for a few weeks?

Just to clarify, I don't dislike her cos she's a famous chav, I dislike her because she's just simply a chav. That said I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone, especially someone so young.

Nope - I mean we get what we deserve. We are all responsible for helping create the society that we have now (or allowing it to develop by not acting to stop it). So an under educated, work shy, illiterate, under class is directly or indirectly created by all of us and they are the market for the kind of crap that Jade Goody peddles.
