Sorry, what’s the reference point here? Adam Lallana said this?
Lallana said it in the Amazon Prime post match interview.

It’s a brilliant interview. Google it and watch it online

Meh. Personally prefer to have players suspended for those kind of probably-not-winning-games rather than good-chance-of-getting-3-points-games.
Our record against Arsenal going back to 2018 is pretty impressive. No Jesus too. Hopefully West Ham can put them in their place later today.

I'm still pissed off we didn't win the Championship.
That genuinely does still rankle with me. All the way up to Carrow Road for that evening game with a massive spring in our step, only to watch a pitiful performance because it appeared the whole team had been on the lash celebrating promotion.

To then completely take our foot off the gas and say to Newcastle... there you go, have the title if you want it, we've got what we came for...felt really deflating.

I'm not gutted about Charlton though. Mainly because it was Charlton and I have a bit of a soft spot for them, so in a bizarre way I didn't really mind going out to them, especially in that manner. It was all a bit comical really.

That reminds me of something RDZ said in his post match interview,. He wants us to make mistakes, what I think he meant, which was probably lost in translation a bit, is I want us to take risks. We are playing a lot more risky football at the moment, there was a great article during the world cup break about how much more of a risk we take under De Zerbi compared to Potter but the reward is there for all to see.
You've reminded me of something else RDZ said soon after he joined us. I forget his exact words, but the gist was that he wants to see Solly score more goals.

I know it’s probably wrong, but I really want Potter to fail. It’s also irrational, but combined with a historical dislike of Chelsea, finishing above them would be almost as good as getting into Europe!
IF we do We just might 😉

I definitely don't want Potter to fail. I like him.
But I definitely DO want Chelsea to fail.

Nah. I'm more of a before-timer Clevor Trever. I can see the future. It WILL go wrong. It WILL cost us points somewhere down the line. Hopefully when it don't matter all that much

Until it costs us more points than it’s gaining us then anybody complaining about it is obviously very, very thick.

What I'm struggling to get my head around is how quickly the disappointment, and tbh gutting feeling, of losing Potter has turned completely on its head.

It genuinely feels like losing a pound and then almost immediately finding a fiver :)
Nah f*** him.

He wasnt even close to being as good as some would have us believe.
Sure he wasn't as bad either but that drop off was a lot closer to the truth.

RDZ has joined at a brilliant time, thanks in part to GPott, but unlike GPott his ethos will make the most of what he's been given.

Of course it might/probably will go wrong at some point, on the odd occasion. It's a risky strategy and taking risks will occasionally backfire. A ten year old could work that out.
If it results in us creating more goals than we concede then the risks are worth taking. It's really not a difficult concept to get.

Hoofing the ball to (most commonly) opponents would also cost points. There's no style of playing that won't cost points.
Dicking around at the back is just about the first thing you get taught not to do in junior school football. It's all risk, minimal reward. Not a lot has changed since junior school football

If you hoof the ball and their CBs win the ball and they score 20 seconds later, the just-hoof-it-strategy costs just as much as if you f*** up playing it from the back and they score 5 seconds later.

It seems Pep Guardiola, GP, Klopp, Arteta, De Zerbi and so forth have realised this, and there is a small chance that some or all of these might have more knowledge about the game than your junior school football coach.
