Its annoying when fans give up on watching the Albion while times are hard!

You can watch Paul Armstrong and Scott Ramsay at Eastbourne Boro for £9.50 and watch a better match

That's great news - because after we lost in the F.A. Cup to Mansfield, I watched MOTD, and apart from a brilliant Oldham goal I saw nothing to go crazy over.
The Stoke v Newcastle match was shite as well, the Withdean game WAS better than that rubbish - and Mansfield are also due some respect for the way they played.

If Eastbourne Boro can keep playing better football than everything I saw that weekend, then they must be on the up-and-up, and would take the likes of Newcastle to the cleaners.

This is all a bit stupid really isn't it? Mr Rust seems to be implying that people should go to see the Albion regardless of whether they can afford it, or will enjoy it, as if we owe the club something. This is BULLSHIT. At the end of the day, BHAFC is a BUSINESS and if anything it owes its' paying customers something, not the other way round.

Well I'm off out in a minute (and it's not to watch the Albion, shame on me) but I'll be checking for it the moment I get back. Of course the fact that I was one of 110 at Swansea the other night counts for nothing in this argument...

My bad, to be fair lousy student non-income and living 200+ miles from Withd... sorry I mean being a BAD, UNCARING NON-FAN means my attendance record recently doesn't really give me the right to much at all!

Yeah alright. I've seen Boro' many times over the last few seasons when The Albion are away and I've seen plenty of terrible games and can probably count on one hand how many good performances they've put in. There seems to be a myth around that because Lewes and Boro are having a good season they are playing champagne football - that's bollocks. Most people who go to non league seem to think it's better because ' I can have a pint at half time' not because the footballs better.

the appeal of non-league isnt always the match - its the lack of segregation, being able to stand, the friendly atmosphere. its all round a more enjoyable match day experience

Core!! you boys really do have the hots for each other!!
I like how your jokes were all identical, I'm still laughing now!! Genius
I suggest getting out abit more rather than having middle aged men living on chat sites making extremely funny jokes amongst each other about one man passions for another mans excuse for a social life!!(must be a bi of a loner)
Whats the odds Scotty Man and Samparash come on here not to discuss the Albion and ways to help!!!.... but to come and fill their lonely souls with what they would called friends? if you read their views it seems that they were probably on some sort of Gary Glitter site while Albion were playing and feel the right to announce they weren't their today with a hint of pride!!
Keep loving the Albion as its people like you who are what some may call NERDS

I don't think anyone is doubting your passion. And also if you DID actually read my views you'd see that I'm in Cardiff, which is miles from Oldham and also from Brighton. Because I'm a student, I also have very little money so can't afford the trip back or to away games very often to watch them. However, things such as the price of the tickets and Withdean being a total shithole are also factors. The fans don't owe the club or the team anything - if they offer support as many of us do that's great, but the bottom line is as I said earlier that the club is a business and therefore if anyone owes anyone else anything, it is the club owing something to their paying customers.

Rich coming from someone who only started watching em once they moved back to Brighton!.I suggest you ask a few fans what it was like at the Priestfield and the last days of the Goldstone!! you might learn something more than just a running track with no roof!!
I think you should listen to Ian Harts phone-ins a little more and hear how tha attendances are sarting to cripple the club!! what do you think needs to be done? slagging me off for trying or stating Brighton is a business? If thats your mentalilty then you ain't got a clue! A business in my eye is a club like Arsenal, what we are watching is a club where we are all involved!!

Moan, moan, moan - that's all you hear nowadays! Even today when we played well with 10 men from 10 mins in - all you could hear was people running down Wendy. There are many fans that went through the mill at Gillingham etc, but the thing that is dragging me down is all you tossers that cannot say anything positive about the Albion - you are the ones that are driving people away - get behind the Albion - we aint there yet - theres a couple of years before the ground gets built - thanks to Mr Knight!! - so as Micky used to say - keep the faith

Firstly how would you know when I started watching them? As a matter of fact you're right, but seeing as how my family only moved to Sussex around that time and nobody apart from myself had the slightest interest in football I can't see that that is really my fault. I don't quite know what you mean about 'learning something more than just a running track with no roof' I have actually been to other football grounds believe it or not, and I know I prefer ones without running tracks and with a roof!

Again, my location should suggest why I don't listen to Harty's phone-in that often..... I'm not slagging you off, I admire your commitment to our club. And the fact is that the club IS a business as all football clubs, and as such if the attendances are crippling it as you state then they need to sort out a way to fix that problem. That's what Dick Knight and co are paid for, not me.

I apologise if i were a bit offensive but I'm someone like you who originally was not brought up in Sussex!, born in Highbury living 2 roads behind the the Highbury Stadium all my Mums family were Arsenal Die-hards and all my Dads were spurs Die-hards who still are currently season-ticket holders!!
We moved down to Brighton the second last season at the Goldstone, our house was overlooking the ground, I started going by myself at about 8/9 yrs old in the terraces in the north-stand and straight away felt something special about this club!! I chose Brighton over a rich choice of 2 Premiership teams, why? I seemed like there was real passion at this club!! I was witnessing pitch invasions, protests, a heroic relegation battle, Big crowds in a small league, it was this what gave me the feeling of "this is what you need to be a football club" and from then onwards i could never turn bk!. But why are fans NOW!! suddenly turning on their beloved club! why are they giving up now, the future looks bright?, why cant people respect where we have came from and where we are now? I can't answer that but i think the jealousy of other clubs understandably has come into it(OPR etc).
Now i know there are plenty of fans out there who need a reason to get to the Withdean, and why cant that be the history we are watching now!, a team which in the clubs past has never had so many home products, Fact! and we're just sitting outside the play-off zone!!
I'm not the biggest Albion fan of all time but i feel like the only fan who wants to see fans coming back to the club when there is a club who cant afford empty grounds with a stadium in the horizon!!
KEEP THE FAITH

worryingly, its those fans who watched scott ramsay and warren aspinall who seem to have had enough

You are correct

People like me, in their 30s, who went to Gillingham every other week, had the season tickets at Withdean for years from inception, done the Scunthorpes', Hulls'. Hartlepools' away on a mid week, have had enough.......sad but true (for many reasons)

But the fans will come back once Falmer is built and the team become more consistent

My next game is Carlisle away so if you are not there, you aint no 'proper fan' !!

Most people that were born around the cup final in 83 or then after probabily didn't go to Goldstone or Gillingham, which is no fault of there own.
The majority who would have been were probabily been taken by there parents or other members of there family if they had gone.

Are you trying to tell me that the rain stops people from buying football tickets?I do recall last year as the dryest ever recorded! yet attendances were very low!
and another example that fans are using the roof as just an excuse, when you consider the east stand at the Goldstone was once an impressive stand for what it could hold!, even so there was no roof!! Yes we might be the gay capital of England but it dosent me we are all gay and soft! its just abit of rain!!BK in the day all the famous stands lacked a roof(clock end,Stretford end,the Kop,Wembley)and you never heard them complaining!yes we pay more now!yes they earnt less then!! We should have shelter for what we pay but then you could say we should be watching Rooney and Ronaldo for what we pay but thats tough shit!! Falmer is comming its gonna have a roof for all you fairys so why complain now! Every disloyal fan is looking for cheap excuses for why they dont go if it be Money, A roof, Entertainment! its all aload of cock and bull!! Your not going because you dont care! simple as that!! Watching results come in on a sat afternoon cant be that fun? get behind a club crying out for fans!!
If people don't go thats there problem and nout to do with you, there is many reasons why fans have had enough with the club.Yes times are hard but times have been hard for us for over 20 years now and yet no progress has been made in this time.

You must learn to understand everything that puts people off as there is a dozen reason's why.Its the fans in recent and past years who have kept this club going through the tough times, yet the fans haven't been rewarded yet either until falmer. The board also milk the fans of what they can and don't contribute enough in finances???

You have to be as blind as a bat if you can't see why people have had enough:glare:
