this was for the 1st few games at the withdean

Yes when things seemed more promising! a time when we got a first chance to see the Falmer design! a time much appriciated because of the terrible previous two years of traveling to Gillingham! a time when we had no idea it would take this long to get Falmer!! Its now when times are hard and thats when your love is needed most!! now can everyone stop moaning about ticket prices! yes they area bloody joke but it is like that for alot of fans in the south(Millwall £20) , Falmer is gonna cost even more for a ticket they reckon, to cover the cost of it all!! are you gonna not watch em when their playing there? doubt it so be a fan and stick by something which you should feel close to!! we support a real football team ,not a plastic club like Chelsea and Arsenal so these will be the times which help you to enjoy the good times of falmer!!

Yes but for that £20 you get a roof over your head.

If the South Stand had a roof, and prices were £20 for an adult I'm sure a lot more people would turn up.

Are you trying to tell me that the rain stops people from buying football tickets?I do recall last year as the dryest ever recorded! yet attendances were very low!
and another example that fans are using the roof as just an excuse, when you consider the east stand at the Goldstone was once an impressive stand for what it could hold!, even so there was no roof!! Yes we might be the gay capital of England but it dosent me we are all gay and soft! its just abit of rain!!BK in the day all the famous stands lacked a roof(clock end,Stretford end,the Kop,Wembley)and you never heard them complaining!yes we pay more now!yes they earnt less then!! We should have shelter for what we pay but then you could say we should be watching Rooney and Ronaldo for what we pay but thats tough shit!! Falmer is comming its gonna have a roof for all you fairys so why complain now! Every disloyal fan is looking for cheap excuses for why they dont go if it be Money, A roof, Entertainment! its all aload of cock and bull!! Your not going because you dont care! simple as that!! Watching results come in on a sat afternoon cant be that fun? get behind a club crying out for fans!!

Whos gonna take us over?
will he be trust worthy?
do we wont to risk everything we've done in the last 10 yrs for abit more cash?
Surely Dick needs credit for never having us in any finiacial crises like what it had been when he first took over?
I think we are all getting carried away with what is happening at clubs like QPR!
we are not at Falmer yet!!!
The transfer problems are a joke! but i wouldnt sack the board over it!! remember what it really takes to be a bad board! we should know!!

i am the the brighton and hove albion fan who missed 2 games at gillingham and watched the likes of

Paul Armstrong
Graeme Atkinson
Garry Hobson
Robbie Reinelt

and at the withdean i have had a season ticket every year inc this one so do not talk to me about passion..............

sorry but i know your talking crap about your days at the Priestfield when you say you were watching Robbie Reinelt, as he was sold to Leyton Orient the summer before we moved to Gillingham, I do believe if you are such a fan you would of remembered the amazing reception Brighton fans gave him when playing for Orient against us at Brisbane rd early that season!!! Memborable times true fans would never forget!!!!

FFS chill out everyone. All this "I went to Gillingham considerably more times than yow" stuff is utterly pointless. [NB I live 280 miles away and went 4 tmes when I was down in Sussex to visit my parents].

What we are currently experiencing is two or three things:-

(a) fatigue from the crap situation we've been in for 10 years +; and a realisation that getting the green light for Falmer deosn't necessarily automatically immediately end our woes

(b) fan 'churn'. It happens. People support a club actively for a few years; then they don't - or at least they do, but not so actively. It happens everywhere. Otherwise there'd be 30,000+ trying to get into Withdean every game. Which would be nice but an unrealistic expectation.

(c) Withdean. Linked to point a. The novelty has worn off and people are fed up with it. But its been a life saver and we have to grin and bear it for a bit more yet thanks to a slip of the pen in J Prescott's Dept and the vindictiveness of De Vecchi and her Politburo.

So relax. It will get better. Fans will come back and/or we will get new ones. Life (and football) is like that - cyclical!

Fair point but what worries me is i'm like 4/5 thousand others paying proudly to watch Brighton during a period where they need us more than ever!! without us there would be no club with ambition and hope!!So when the time comes when the gates at Falmer open will the wounded soilders of now get the support given to the club back in return!! i.e easier oppurtunities to get tickets, a chance to get Nathan Elders autograph etc?
When i had to get my ticket off a tout for the Leeds game it made me wonder! are these people gonna come bk or are they just here for the glamourous tie? why had this game sold out but not others? Answer= people wanting to see Leeds! Is that what we want at Falmer? or do we want the ground to have an atmosphere famous because of the noise of passionate loyal Brighton fans!! If you went and watched Albion games away you would def know what i'm talking about!!
I'm not gonna complain about knew fans as thats what we need and its ashame the old one's werent as passionate as made out!, but the ones of now are the ones who will be remebered for being there when no one else cared!!
I hope i wont have to pay double for the big games when others sometimes pay nothing!! but whatever happens this club needs more fans and loyal fans!! and i'm sure if Knight gave the fans that kind of reassurance of tickets for Falmer through loyalty, it would not only give the fans of now more reason to stay loyal but could even bring in the knew fans now!! I dont think its a bad idea thinking to the future and its def one way of improving current attendances!!

Keep the faith and stay Loyal a fan is someone who goes to matches! FACT

hmmm.....interesting posts. When the whole GAFFERKNOWSBEST rubbish was around, your spelling and grammar was much better then. "His" was about as bad as yours right now.

Also, didn't you claim to be 18 or younger a few weeks back?

Rather that watching football at Preston Park, why not spend the time at home learning how to spell and when to use capital letters?

I just knew he'd trip up sometime. Bloke only seems to come on to deliberately wind up people like Nicky Rust (incidentally - when does that bloke sleep? Posts at midnight and at 8.30 this mornng!!) who are still passionate about the Albion.

Speaking personally, I kind of left the Albion for a few years but since I've started taking my 2 boys and seeing their passion esp my 8 year old who bleeds blue and white, he loves them that much, I've found my spirit rekindled.

It makes me feel proud that one day when he's older he can say that his Dad took him every week to see the Albion.

Sacking the board is not the answer but letting DK take a back seat would not be a bad thing. There are several people n the board who could do a job.

Lets face it the first few months at Falmer are going to be full of people that haven't been to a game at withdean. (Cardiff, spurs and west ham probabily)
There were annoying peole near me at Cardiff that came out with some stuipd stuff due to the fact that they hardly watch the albion. Main case was someone asked the person next to them what that song they were singing and what did it mean, the song was GOSBTS.
I just ignored them and enjoyed the day out even if the game wasn't brilliant still a fantastic result.

So my point is for the club it will be much better for them to have seats sold at Falmer so its full to the brim rather than just let people in that have been to Withdean and i for one won't hold it against anyone who has just jumped on the Albion at falmer bandwagon come 2010 as there cash is as good as anyone elses!

Honoured that someone noticed my lack of sleep!!!.
The beauty of NSC while doing a one-off nightshift is that i managed to have someone to talk to even if he/she/transexual was winding me up!!. Customer care on the phones incase your thinking i'm Batman.
Thankyou Lord for inventing the Laptop and wireless as well as a shift which did not include work!! Amen

I agree with what you say!, but imagine if Dick came out and said next season every time you buy say 5 tickets you will be guaranteed a ticket for a match of your choice at Falmer!(not for free). Do you not think people would jump on the Falmer bandwagon now rather than in 3 yrs? It would definitely get the ball rolling and interest risen in the club. The games of your choice would obviously be in the first season but with a packed Withdean and high demand you never know where our first season could be!!

I think there will be plenty of room for everyone at Falmer so no need to worry about priority for loyal supporters.
