It's SKY wot's dunnit,innit?

I realise you probably posted this as a joke but you are right really. It's now easier than ever to watch at least one game of football on any given day than it ever has been before so those people who just "like" football but don't support a particular team or even those people who do support a particular side but just don't care what football they watch on the TV are sorted really.
The Sky money supports the Premier League and doesn't filter down to the lower leagues therefore the rich clubs get richer and the poorer clubs are left sniffing around for any scraps that fall off Sky's table (like the occasional televising of the Albion). The Premier League, along with Sky, is stifling the game. It's easier to watch Arsenal. Man U, Chelsea or Barcelona or Real Madrid come to that than to actually get off your arse and go to a match.
And yes people ARE glory hunters - it's easy to sit in your own armchair with your beer and fags on hand watching say Chelsea and bathe in their reflected glory and wear their shirts that you bought at a sports shop in Brighton than it is to actually be bothered to go up to Stamford Bridge. It's easy and it is also much cheaper. Just look at our own position - was it 3 or 4 years ago when tickets for the Albion were at a premium when there was a lottery every week for the few tickets that remained. Now they're giving away 300 tickets to the Huddersfield match next week in the Argus !!
