had a damn good Calzone at The House Restaurant (by the Sussex near where Al Forno's used to be) when I was back at the beginning of the month.

I have lost count of the number of times the same question has been asked on here but here goes, my favourite bya long way is Topolino Duo and Angelo is a staunch Seagulls supporter.

The second part? Angelo has been an Albion fan for donkeys years. What are you contesting?

Sorry, wot?

I'm agreeing with the second part that Angelo Cavallo is a Brighton fan. I'm not contesting that.

The first part is the contention that his favourite is Topolino Duo. That's what I was 'oh dear'ing.

Well Frutos,

As the instigator of this pasta and pizza binfest, you still haven't said where you are going ?

Al Duomo gets my vote - a tried and tested Sussex italian restaurant

and i was in the House last week and just noticed some bastard has nicked Al Forno's - another Brighton institution :censored::rant:

Italian is dull with a capital DUH

I just cannot get my head round why someone would bother going out to have a pizza, or a pasta dish. A pizza is a quick and easy snack food from the freezer, and the pasta is invariably just smothered in some kind of cheese sause and a sprig of parsley. Bo-ring. And you'll usually pay the thick end of a tenner for either.

Madness.

How many times have we had this debate?

A good pizza is not a snack you get out of the freezer.

Actually we should just have a Italian food/pizza debate sticky at the top of the board

Al Duomo by the Pavillion is excellent. For cheaply priced but decent enough Italian fayre, Donatello or Pinocchio should suffice. Even cheaper is Fat Leo in the lanes but the food is pretty good for the money.

That is what all day drinking does to your mind! Topolino Duo do great pizza's. Far more authentic than many of the establishments in Brighton and 'ove, in my opinion. When did you last eat there?

Well Frutos,

As the instigator of this pasta and pizza binfest, you still haven't said where you are going?

My apologies.

Based on the recommendations from folk on here and from other reviews I've read, I opted for Al Duomo.

The occasion in question is tomorrow night, so I shall be sure to offer my own opinion afterwards.

Thanks to all of you for your help and suggestions.
