Othello's is poor. Donatellos it very poor (went the last week to meet some friends and my pizza was bland with 5 slices of pepperoni...I expect a few more slices on a pepperoni pizza). On top of this the service was rubbish and the head waiter was arguing with our waiter.

Not been for a long long while but Al Doumo by the Pavillion was damn good.

I have lost count of the number of times the same question has been asked on here but here goes, my favourite bya long way is Topolino Duo and Angelo is a staunch Seagulls supporter.

I have never had a bad meal there nor any of my family but then I usually have fish and would never eat Pasta or Pizza as a meal in a restaurant because to me they are not proper meals just mid day snacks.

Meanwhile back in the 21st century....

I've always found Topolino really friendly, but the food is ordinary.

Beyond the fact that I'm working on a very limited time schedule and that neither I nor the person I'm having dinner with can drive, it's a wonderful idea. :)

Its a 5 min max walk,max, from the station.

If you want to cook a sound Italian at home (or a mid-day snack) go for this:

For 2 people:

Get some spag on the go. Next bit will take 4 mins so start at an appropriate time: heat 2 table spoons of virgin oil in a frying pan, pour in 60mg of breadcrumbs, a chopped garlic clove, some chopped parsley (2 table spoons) and a sprinkle of dried chilli seeds. Stir this around until all the oil is absorbed. Add 6 quarted scallops and cook until they become opaque. Add to the spag, fold in and you have a decent meal.

I'd sooner spend my cash on a decent meal than some poncy Jamie Oliver resturant:lol:

also carluccios is very good italian:thumbsup:

donatellos...............f***ing SHITE, TOTAL GASH, BOLLOCKS FOOD......AVOID, SAME FOR TOPALLINOS:angry:

Cant understand why people say food is no good but lovely staff etc??? What is that all about............??

Went to Jamie's Italian today, the food was great and the staff were polite also the portions were good. However the service was rather slow, but I would go back again as I put the slow service down to the Bank Holiday crowds.
