What the hell are you rushing home for probably to get on North Stand Chat first to moan about the team after years of sitting in the pissing rain watching a shite team I'm loving every minute.

If only I lived in TN6 it would be perfect for me as well! Unfortunately I live a good half hour/20 miles north of you, just off M25, meaning a fight through T Wells/A26 etc if going to come in Lewes way which is only sensible way to Mithras. So only realistic option for me and most others is M25/M23 which cuts out option of Mithras House (or race course).

In reality seems to me Mithras only any good for anyone living east or 30 mins north east of Brighton, or locals. Not at all surprised under used, and am envious of you! For everyone else (including away fans) Mill Road is only option without having to fight through Coldean/Brighton/Falmer to get to Mithras/race course before game?

I guess solution is another park and ride to north of Brighton close to A23 to take pressure off of Mill Road.

I got a Uni parking spot this year (pressie!) but last year used Mithras all the time coming down M/A23 too, no problem (other than the normal post match queues)

They may well have sold 26,293 tickets for yesterday, but there were nowhere near that many in the ground. And that's lying

The coach service works for me you can still get a quick beer at the end of game and back in my local by 6pm in the H Heath. I can remember taking a long time to get out of Hove and you could park outside residents houses. I have only left the ground early on a very few occasions over the last 52 years we have scored many late goals and I like to show my support to the team and manager and even the opposition if they made it a good game. As we rise up the league we need to except being delayed with the crowds getting bigger.

I imagine a lot of people weren't rushing home, they were rushing to get a drink away from the ground because once again the catering service was f***ing shit, only two tills open in the West stand bar towards the north stand yesterday, utter shambles ONCE AGAIN, no wonder people are pissing straight off after the game rather than hanging about when this continually happens.

No probs if you stay on for a drink or a shop after the match, but I feel the mass exodus on 85 mins really hampers the effect that the crowd can have on the players in enouraging them. Yesterday was a classic case in point.

Why don't people stay back after?

My stepson is disabled and finds the binfest at the end of the game abit hard, so we stay back have a coffee (as i'm driving) watch abit of ssn and within about 20 mins we can walk down to the station and pretty much walk straight onto a train.

We did try the rush away last season but it's too stressful, our new approach has changed the day/night from start to finish.

I know it feels like your not getting home quick but the time i get back to Kent does not feel that great, maybe 20/30 mins.

Not one post about the long delay of trains after the game today and myself stood in the pissing rain for an hour.

Strange..

I will assume nobody on this thread was actually at the game, no surprise on messageboards i suppose.

Perhaps they were posting their thoughts in a thread titled

Train delays heading back to Brighton

Strange...

The Amex has loads of bars, all open to anyone after the game. If your bit's busy, why not just head down to the North instead? Or the East - the best and biggest concourse, thousands of customers milling around but loads of servers free last night - plus all that artwork to look at too!

Put simply, we have absolutely the best post-match drinking options of any ground in this league - it's simply unique!! And still people complain?

Thanks. Can you tell me which route you used to get to Mithras from A23, as of late I have been put off the long queues through Hollingbury backing up to bypass, but if there is an easier route through? Am guessing straight down A23 to Upper Lewes Road might work, but for evening games going to be busy/rush hour?

It's not the fact it's busy, it's the fact that there were TWO tills open out of a possible SIX, with people queuing out the door and eventually giving up and going to cause more train congestion, why is this?... I'm not disputing we have the best after match facilities but by god the service is SHIT.

Yesterday was incredible as could easily have equalised or even won game in last 5 mins. However clearly many (in fact looking across to East in injury time-well over 50% of) people dont want to queue for an hour to get away, or go for beer after, so that is their choice.

I'm afraid Gus/team/those who stay are going to have to get used to it unless there is a significant change to the likes of Mill Road P&R, no matter how many points it possibly costs us.

A23/A27 and down Coldean Lane. There are queues at the Hollingbury off ramp but they move pretty quickly. Also the road works at the bottom of Coldean Lane haven't been helping but not sure when they are finished. I wouldn't bother going further down the A23 and cutting across, I tried it once, never again!

The station at Falmer is just too small and with trains becoming more and more under strain how on earth will this work in 10/15 years time.

Has our blind faith in getting our amazing new home led us into a potential travel nightmare in the future?

I don't understand why things should be worse in 10/15 years time. Won't they they just be the same?

Many thanks. Will give it a try against Posh, as wont need to get home to Kent at sensible time against dirty Leeds as a Friday night.
