Ok 12 car platforms and maybe a seperate siding loop at Falmer Station, more bendy buses and if i win the Euro millions the coach park can stay with a 16 story 2000 car multi story car park above it-

This is flippant posting on my part and not sarcastic ness ness

Me and the young Pottings left on the final whistle from the South Stand (our bit curiously was in the East), used the loos, ambled to the shop and browsed for a good 20' before buying a couple of things. Shop was busy, as seemed most of the bars that we passed on the way back to the P & R to Not Mithras House. Straight on to a half empty double decker which waited for 5' minutes or so before departing. The temporary lights at Coldean Lane plus volume of traffic made for a slow journey (who do I blame for this?), back in car just on 18:00, back in TN6 by 18:45.

Granted I haven't experienced a mid week game yet but unless you have some sort of urgent engagement after the game I don't see it as something worth getting stressed about.

Just at all costs(before the game) avoid the bottom of the A23 -carnage,but no different to any big match you attend anywhere really-take the train

Was bemused to spot the Mithras House P&R queue was empty from when we arrived in Mill Road queue on way back. Can assure you, if you had parked at Mill Road, you would not have got back at 18:00 having done what you did. You must have walked past the long Mill Road queue when getting to your bus.

Was there any reason why Mithras House queue so short today as might try that in future but didnt think always that short?

Don't think Mithras was working as normal today.

race Hill very slow today, didn't stay for a drink today, walked straight to queue from WSU and got to P and ride at five past six. An hour and ten minutes after the game finished.

As normal, busses left with empty seats.

It's not a moan

Is so, with bells on.....

If you came here this evening expecting fluffy bunny rabbits and rainbows then you need to ask yourself how you came to that conclusion

Why ?

I have had a wonderful day, with my family and later at the football a little bit of traffic and a one nil defeat to Middlebrough in our second season at the Amex in the Championship is not going to spoil my life.

Maybe you need to ask yourself whats important in life.

It is really just a mindset of some who must be home for News at 10, or whatever is on at 5pm on a Saturday, rather than accepting that there are 26,000 people and it may take longer to get away than at Withdean.

I am sure that if we had conceded a second goal late on to-day there would have been a mass exodus which is insulting to the team and Gus, but unfortunately is something that we probably have to accept from the JCLs.

I look at it similar to away games, of similar size, there is no point rushing out if driven as will get stuck in traffic, and if travelling by train usually look to get something after 6, to avoid the rush and queing and to have amore pleasant journey.

I am sure that once Falmer platform is extended, and the 8 carriage trains are run, that things will improve.

Also a few more tweaks on the buses to reflect increase in demand, and while not perfect things will be more realible.

Firstly, this is not a moan about the Amex but more an observation about the stadiums challenges.

So, this midweek transport plan is a bloody nightmare, the club seems to think its working out but it's not. Fans are leaving really early now to get a bus/train before any rush. People are literally sprinting through the concourses and outside midweek. It's becoming hard to avoid a head on collision sometimes.

The station at Falmer is just too small and with trains becoming more and more under strain how on earth will this work in 10/15 years time.

Has our blind faith in getting our amazing new home led us into a potential travel nightmare in the future?

I also fear that if the on field stuff does not progress us, the really high costs in running and stewarding in and around the stadium could really sting us.

With the club so heavily reliant on the trains/buses how can it be improved? We have already lost a traditional Boxing day game because it and I am sure it won't be last time this will have to happen

Yeh let's all go back to Withdean! Tell me have you ever visited the planet Earth?

Oh okay yes it is a moan and it's ruining my life. Good god. None of the points are worthy of any valid discussion and it's clear the transport will it ever get better and I must get home by 5.30

I am sure any meetings at club level to discuss any transport issues are met with equal twattery

i just wonder what massive event i'm not aware of that happens on a saturday afternoon that requires everyone to evacuate. are you rushing home to the pub? your sofa? when you leave early, or barge everyone out of your way to run to the front of the queue, what are you all exactly rushing for?

Hacks me off that some people think their time is more valuable than other peoples. same as people that cut people up while driving because 'they're in a rush'. newsflash, the universe does not revolve around you and your simple little life.

rant over.

Are you suggesting twattery is common place at board meetings in Brighton ?

Now that would be worth starting a thread for......

Think many have never been in such large crowds whether too young or whatever, its the same at any event that has a high attendance, get over it or don't come.

During my habitual post-match amble around the Amex this evening, I was heartened to see just how busy the south, east and north concourses were looking. Not just a few hundred, but thousands of people had decided to take their time, have a beer or something to eat, chat with friends, or watch the Albion highlights or late kick-off game on TV. On into the East Central Brasserie Bar, or Dick's, and they're absolutely rammed with happy people.

Everyone seemed to be having a bloody good time. No stress, no anxious looking at watches... Just enjoying themselves, and relaxing. And all this after we'd just lost another home game.

Maybe, just maybe, those who habitually rush off prematurely might stay back next time, take their time at the Amex and then discover exactly what they've been missing.

Just a thought?

On a Saturday game I always stay for an hour or two and I am fine with that. But many are dying to get away, however the Amex does have some unique transport challenges compared to most large events

Give it a try?

sort out the path on the falmer/woodingdean road - little cost and would improve speed and safety. people walking down the road is sure to end in tears eventually.
