Is the stadium heading for big problems

Firstly, this is not a moan about the Amex but more an observation about the stadiums challenges.

So, this midweek transport plan is a bloody nightmare, the club seems to think its working out but it's not. Fans are leaving really early now to get a bus/train before any rush. People are literally sprinting through the concourses and outside midweek. It's becoming hard to avoid a head on collision sometimes.

The station at Falmer is just too small and with trains becoming more and more under strain how on earth will this work in 10/15 years time.

Has our blind faith in getting our amazing new home led us into a potential travel nightmare in the future?

I also fear that if the on field stuff does not progress us, the really high costs in running and stewarding in and around the stadium could really sting us.

With the club so heavily reliant on the trains/buses how can it be improved? We have already lost a traditional Boxing day game because it and I am sure it won't be last time this will have to happen

I've waited ages to get away from third and fourth division matches elsewhere. Why would anyone think that getting away from the Amex will be quick with 25000+ crowds.

Don't worry. There'll be 20-carriage hover trains every 5 mins by then, and 1901 members will have their own personal TARDIS

Yes it is dreadful we should move to derelict athletics track and have temporary seating and also get excited about players like Holdroyd, Hawkins and Dixon

It's not a moan, I already said that. Just a subject for open debate on a discussion board. That's how a discussion board works. Aside from
That, if you came here this evening expecting fluffy bunny rabbits and rainbows then you need to ask yourself how you came to that conclusion

Personally i cannot see why people don't love Saturday matches and make them into an away day of sorts (easy if you live in Brighton i know) pub crawls get the train from Brighton station say about 1430 onwards roll up at the stroke of kick off (enabling valuable last minute smoking time).

stroll in walk up the stairs into the Bupa, grab a pint, quick piss, take your seat(ok a minute or 2 after KO) collect ones free programme  and enjoy, then do the same in reverse and leave the stadium at about half 6? DONE.

Its not just midweek!

The natives are getting very restless around me in WSU. More and more each week leave way before final whistle and East and South Stands looked deserted at final whistle today.

I left on final whistle, rushed to Mill Road P&R and got back to car at 6.05.

Answer-leave as injury time starts, get home at reasonable time. Stay till final whistle and be delayed by 3/4 of an hour.

Get used to it, as it aint gonna change!

Quite why Paul Barber has not submitted a planning application for a better, new home for Brighton & Hove Albion I do not know.

Barber out.

26,000 in the ground.

That's 26,000 people, not ants.

What the fook do you expect?

You couldn't move down the Old Shoreham Road for a good hour, with a 10k crowd, and rammed trains.

Why is it the bullshit replies Involve a nod towards me suggesting we should go back to Withdean or that I am moaning about our new home as a whole.

If the original points hold no such concerns then maybe you should hold your sarcasm on the endless moaning threads about a pie being sold out or being slightly cold.

I piss myself laughing at every thread like this as I have secretly learnt to teleport. After downing several post-match bevvies I call the wife on my 'communications device' with a quick "beam me up wifey" and whooooosh, half a nano-second later I'm sitting in my favourite armchair while you losers are still in the queue for trains and buses. Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Me and the young Pottings left on the final whistle from the South Stand (our bit curiously was in the East), used the loos, ambled to the shop and browsed for a good 20' before buying a couple of things. Shop was busy, as seemed most of the bars that we passed on the way back to the P & R to Not Mithras House. Straight on to a half empty double decker which waited for 5' minutes or so before departing. The temporary lights at Coldean Lane plus volume of traffic made for a slow journey (who do I blame for this?), back in car just on 18:00, back in TN6 by 18:45.

Granted I haven't experienced a mid week game yet but unless you have some sort of urgent engagement after the game I don't see it as something worth getting stressed about.
