Is now the time for us to find out why Wilkins was sacked?

I have to say I'm impressed with your current backing of board and manager as I had you down as a bit anti the set up at the club from posts over the years. Anyway if a comment came from the club it would be made to sound like they'd done something positive however shit Adams turns out to be. If, however MA turns it all around DK will be on the pitch letting us know what a great move bringing back MA was, if it stays pearshaped we won't be seeing or hearing him at all imo..so I'm not expecting to hear a dicky bird.

I have always backed the manager and have also come to the conclusion that like it or lump it we are going to have DK in control until we get to Falmer so lets back him to get us there in 1 piece and in as best condition as possible. That is not to say I agree with everything he does and has done but he aint gonna change now, so we have got to be patient.

I doubt if DK would come on the pitch and say anything about bringing MA in unless we got promoted..and, in that case, what would be wrong in that?

And if things stay as they are, would you expect him to come on the pitch and say something? How many chairmen have you seen coming onto the pitch and apologise for finishing 15th? He hasn't PROMISED that we'll finish in any particular position.

If we had a chairman coming onto the pitch to apologise everytime we had a bad spell, we'd have had them on the pitch almost as much as the players over the decades!

In any case, why do people have this obsession with DK coming onto the pitch? He's entitled to, but we don't have to listen. I go to watch 90 minutes of a football - who says what on the pitch is completely irrelevant.

My badly put point is that he's out of the traps like a greyhound wanting to talk to us when things are going well but is like a hermit when they're going badly. I understand why that might be but I would be interested to hear his take on the current situation given the euphoria by so many when Adams was re-appointed.

I believe quite a few chairmen have things to say to the fans when there is a negative atmosphere surrounding their contentious decisions.

I agree to a point, maybe one of DK great attributes is how he continues to guide the board and Tony Bloom in particular.

Perhaps but I really don't think the board members need any regular guidance from DK on how to run this business - decisions are made collectively unless specific reponsibility has been delegated. Removing the manager is a board decision.
Btw, Tony Bloom may be a significant shareholder but he is NOT a member of the board which comprises:
Dick Knight, Derek Chapman, Martin Perry, Ken Brown, Ray Bloom and Robert Comer.

The financial power doesnt lie with DK however it seems that decisions are driven primarily with him.

Very clever !!

Quite so, neither the financial power nor overall control lie with Dick Knight and in no way can he be seen as "in charge" of the club. He could be removed by the other shareholders tomorrow - easy peasy.
He's the chairman so is the public face of the board; that's why decisions seem mostly "driven" by him - that's a chairman's role, there's nothing clever about it. Another example of the "public" role of a company chairman was Tom McKillop at the RBS shareholders' meeting yesterday.

I think the mistake DK made was appointing Adams.

The board obviously made the choice to sack Wilkins for reasons that were obviously not about football and whatever they are we can't change them.

However in appointing Adams it looks like he has created a job for a 'mate' whereas a new face to the club would probably not be getting the stick MA is right now.

I'm still firmly behind MA and am not prepared to compare him against Wilkins until the end of the season.
