The question is would anyone believe Knight?
Has he lost the Fans respect?

My answers would be No and Yes in that order.

Time for change as i have said before he has cock up big style and he must be accountable after all the Managers would have been in his eyes-we can't have double standards surely.

Go for it. Let us know your candidates for Dick Knight's replacement...

You haven't actually answered his question though. You find the queue of (or even one) billionaires waiting to take the club over and pay for the new ground and I am sure Dick Knight would be happy to speak to them.

Was Dick Knight a billionaire when he took over then. I`d settle for a plain old millionaire at the moment.

The Chairman's job is a very difficult job i accept that but he has made his job a BILLION times harder by sacking an inform manager.
He might as well been playing russian roulette, gamble of the century I'd say.
What a waste of the little funds we have.

For knight to think that a manager of Mickeys level would bring gates up long-term is laughable.

To conclude Knight has f*ck up.

Why on earth would that be the wrong thing to think? MA was a real favourite here before, he left with us sitting quite nicely and ready for another promotion. These facts suggest it would have been a good idea to bring him back. Now hindsight is a wonderful thing, and there are many that would say "never go back" but to say it is laughable, I don't think so.

Having said that, it is very unfortunate that it looks like a plan that seems to have backfired a bit, I am sure most of us expceted the team to be doing better with all the investment in playing staff, etc, but I think it totally unfair to suggest that DK made a mistake, and certianly not a laughable one.

No hindsight here, I never wanted him back but neither did I expect him to struggle as much as he is.

Could it be Wendy was sacked because he had lost the confidence of many players especially the senior ones, and showed favouritism to his youth team products?

Knight has not lost the fans' support. A few moaners on NSC are not 'the fans'
A majority of our fanbase has never looked at this site.

Can't we move on from this now? It is so very boring.

Knowing why DW was sacked will change nothing and, much as some would like to know, we do not have a right to know.

I can't see how revealing the reason now will be of any benefit. Maybe if it was revealed at the time, it might have enabled some people to draw a line under things and move on, but doing it now might end up being counterproductive, and putting more pressure on Adams rather than less.

DK knew Wilkins would get us promoted this year, and with Falmer still just a distant dream..........he knew he couldn,t pay for the players needed in the championship..................solve the promotion problem............bring in Mickey adams...! LOL

I'm beggining to think you're not actually a million miles away from the truth.

The 'truth'???

So DK 'knew' that we would get promoted? What complete nonsense.

Maybe it was a concern, realisically can the board afford to compete in the championship at the withdean? (Don't take this the wrong way DK is a god to the club, but sometimes i often wonder things that don't always make sense. Maybe we need to stay down this season, maybe it's all part of the plan?)
I didn't really rate Wilkins, but to finish seventh last season with the squad we had was impressive. If i was in charge i'd have given him another season to see what he could do if i was serious about us going up. Given the performances, team moral etc with a little investment i'm sure we could have hit the playoffs.

It's football. You can't be SURE of anything. As a fan, I would have given DW another season in charge too. But as a fan, I know nothing of what went on internally at the club. That might have changed my mind. We don't know, nor do we have a right to know.

Whatever the reasons, I cannot bring myself to believe that DK expected promotion. Regardless of what we did, who knows what other clubs plans were/are? We assume that other clubs would not have improved too. Plenty of them have spent more money than we have.

I have always been a massive DK fan, and I'm not a typical "NSC moaner" but I have lost a great deal of confidence in DK over the shabby handling of the Falmer delays and more importantly the sacking of DW for MA. It doesn't change his legend status, nothing could do that, but he has lost a lot of credibility with a lot of people.

Remember when we had that defender (ex Wimbledon, forget his name, Dean something?) that played about 12 games for us. Pre season he did his cruciate whilst out of contract and we still gave him a year, knowing he was unlikely to ever play for us again. How has DK gone from "doing the right thing" there to sacking a loyal and successful servant of the club?
