Is now the time for us to find out why Wilkins was sacked?

I have always been a massive DK fan, and I'm not a typical "NSC moaner" but I have lost a great deal of confidence in DK over the shabby handling of the Falmer delays and more importantly the sacking of DW for MA. It doesn't change his legend status, nothing could do that, but he has lost a lot of credibility with a lot of people.

Remember when we had that defender (ex Wimbledon, forget his name, Dean something?) that played about 12 games for us. Pre season he did his cruciate whilst out of contract and we still gave him a year, knowing he was unlikely to ever play for us again. How has DK gone from "doing the right thing" there to sacking a loyal and successful servant of the club?

What was the shabby handling of the Falmer delays?

What was the shabby handling of the Falmer delays?

To crow about the much heralded completion date of summer 2010 for Falmer when we hadn’t even started the tender process for a contractor, or signed a deal for the full finance package, was very foolish. It was to bask in the glory when we should have been more level headed and realistic. It’s a massive project and highly likely to encounter delays, just look at Wembley. It was, as I said shabbily handled and made them all look very foolish when the delays were announced. I also hated the patronising way the delays were put out by MP starting with “Good news!” No, it is not.

Oh dear, you're not very happy about it, are you?

Just demoralised and depressed about all things Albion. Lucky I've got a life. :)

Don't be. We've been through far worse times than now (and probably will do again, unfortunately).

So the stadium has been delayed a year from the hoped-for opening..we'll still get there. I have the detailed plans in front of me and it looks great!

My cup is always half-full, L7 - it's the only way to be, because being depressed and demoralised will change absolutely nothing.

Maybe its time for a carefully worded question to the Insider.

I do know why he was sacked, but I don't except anyone to take my word for it.

The reason was a commerical one, gates were falling, and the "backers" thought Micky Adams was more likely to bring the gates back up. The deal was done early in the year (as early as February), but it would appear that the move has backfired in spectacular fashion.

Dean Wilkins was not wanted by Micky Adams, Ian Chapman was not wanted by Micky Admas and was told to leave or be frozen out.

So here we have the blind leading the blind leading a former Pease Pottage manager, and people will wonder why we may go down this year, probably to be replaced by Peter Taylors Wycombe!!

When Micky came back the idea was too keep Dean and Ian but due to the way that the chairman handled everything two very loyal and good coachs left - Micky did not want Dean or Ian to leave

Why isn't Wilkins currently working - even in a coaching capacity???????? He did a reasonable job at the Albion!

Dean Blackwell. And I agree with every word you've written.

He has no need to work - we are still paying him aren't we?
Which is exactly what we would be doing if MA was sacked because of another campaign by people to get the manager booted out.

Irritating reason to have to stick with him though, because we can't afford to fire him but there is no way we have to be happy about it is there? More and more will walk away if it doesn't improve soon and I don't mean we need to be worldbeaters, just starting to look competent over three or four games would be a good start and win a few fans back.

I have no great ambition to know what happened with DW, it would be dressed up in bullshit anyway.

Could we afford to sack Wilkins?

I am not blaming Mickey for our situation the blame lays firmly at the door of Mr Knight as far as i can see and he should be accountable.
