Best way to gamble on footy is evens and odds on bets (singles, doubles, or a treble at a push) .....look for 10% yield over a season.......then it becomes enjoyable.
The ammount of people doing 6+ team accumulators is unreal.
I started a thread once on here about my addiction, which was drink, and apart from one or two had a great response.
It helped me so much. I am no where near being free of it but have, partly due to here, learnt to control it.
Maybe give the man a chance, afford him the courtesy you gave me.
God knows he's been here long enough.
The trouble is these days gambling is thrown at you from every direction, internet gambling, smartphone gambling, shops all over the place, adverts on TV and in the papers and in bygone days these were either banned, heavily regulated or simply didn't exist.
I still remember going into a bookies and having to have a 5 team acca on the football and that was the only bet if the game wasn't on TV.
I can understand now how so many people become addicted and it is a very easy situation to slide into and a very difficult one to get out of.
I may come back to this thread through time to time. Anyone else is welcome to use this thread to offer support and ask for help as well.
As an old regular of this forum I find it important for myself to let you know. I've been a compulsive gambler for seven years. My first bet was when I was 11 but it wasn't when I was 17 when I started. Now 24 I have come to accept I have a huge problem. I've gone the longest without a gamble since I started all those years ago, almost 6 months until last week. I don't know what triggered it as I've been through a lot worse and have been attending GA meetings supporting others quite regularly. Football is a huge problem for me as gambling is heavily influenced from it which is why I never go to matches anymore. But anyway today is the first day on the path to the first 90 days again. I'm 1066 and I'm a compulsive gambler.
Day 1
The ad banners at top of page must be sorely testing his willpower right now!
Unfortunately for you your brain is wired up differently to others, it's to do with your dopamine levels.Unlike others who can walk away win or lose you can not because your god is losing and because losing is your reward your dopamine levels are up so you will carry on until you have lost every penny you have. When you do hit a win you only want to give it back because winning is not a reward, put it simply you love losing.
Forget about giving up because your not going to so do not kid yourself, you do not want to give up,giving up comes from within and you do not have enough willpower to overcome your neurological issues.
Now what you need to do is form a firewall around your money you need for you living expenses and make it as inconvenient to get at, no cash or debit card then get a basic bank account with a debit card for your punting only put money here you can afford to lose and top it up once a week if needed. If you have credit cards too get shot of them if you really feel you need them burn off the number and the 3 digit code on the back and you can still use it for chip and pin
You now need to install some discipline into that brain and if you follow the above you have taken the first step in helping you eradicate impulse gambling you can then build on that and the more disciplined you get with you betting bank more chance you have got of reversing the issues with your brain
If you are simply just crap at whatever your poison is i suggest you switch to a different brand and find one that your good at, watch this if you can find it anywhere.

Sorry i don't buy this. Gambling is an addiction just like smoking. Both can be overcome with using willpower. Trust me i should know.
Incorrect.
Never underestimate that there are people out there that are cleverer than yourself
There are many, many losers on Betfair BUT over 10,000 people in the World are £10,000 ahead each year. This data was published in their PLC launch prospectus
Look up a thread on Financial Spread Betting from last January/February.
Every poster when asked for tips either said don't do it or commented without tips.
I alone posted two tips, have a look & tell me what you think?
How would you know that if you have only ever had two bets in your life?. My skills at the roulette table have paid many a bill over the years, myself and family have also enjoyed plenty of Albion matches thanks to the casino. If you keep in control and actually bother to learn what to look for etc you can make some good money, of course I lose from time to time but at this moment in time overall still in profit.
You are fooling yourself.
