I made a cyclist fall off his bike his morning

You should of had a metal rod to shove in the spokes if they went past you, that'll learn em.

Personally I'd like to say a couple of things (as a frequent cyclist and pedestrian)

Firstly, the cyclist is a much misunderstood creature. The temptation to jump lights is borne out by the fact that the road is not designed to accomodate them. There was a thread on crap cycle paths about a month ago, and there are so many afterthought examples of this. It's about time that cyclists paid road tax (in the form of new bike sales maybe?) and this was used to build a proper infrastructure. If you build cycle paths that go sensible routes and have sensible junctions and lights, I firmly believe that incidents of jumping the lights would be dramatically reduced.

Secondly, pedestrians can also be complete morons. I've lost count the number of times that pedestrians "jay walk" across streets where it is the cyclist's right of way and just because there are no cars coming, it apparently seems that the oncoming cyclist is invisible too.

You tease.
Get me climbing aboard my high horse, ready to get stuck right in, only to find out I agree with you.
The guy was in the wrong and hopefully he'll think twice next time, doubtful, but you never know.

I was thinking about getting one of these, but being a law abiding cyclist who doesn't get the abuse, some do.
It seems a little pointless.

The writing at the bottom says:-

'I pay road tax'.

There is no way that cyclists should have to pay road tax. Insurance and licences I would agree with but not tax. Why should they?

The amount of idiots riding around without reflective gear on this year is ridiculous, and should be clamped down on.

It has been clamped down on. A couple of months ago I was stopped riding through preston park by a policewoman, who called me over. I went over warily, expecting a fine, but thankfully she just gave me a ticket and told me to go to hove town hall any day that week to get free lights and reflective gear. Use them all the time and now feel much safer on the roads.

You should try cycling here in NYC.... lost count of the amount of times a Yellow cab or pedestrian has pulled out / wandered out in front of me....

The best bit is they recently closed off Times Sq to road traffic and installed dedicated bike lanes through the area down Broadway - GENIUS idea - put cycle paths through a pedestrianised area !

I stick to the rules on the road and it annoys me when other cyclists dont so I with the original poster on this.... but if you ever did it to me I would rip your tits off

So it took a copper to tell you and the fact they were free to realise these items are a safety issue. ???

It is a hallmark of sociopaths/psycopaths to wait for an error in others as an excuse to abuse or misuse them, a cover for their behaviour.

A wanker sign would have got the message across and possibley carried less risk of an accident.

Its like perps who slam on their breaks to get tail gaters to hit them and claim on their insurance.

Of course this wouldn't apply to the OP whos a decent upstanding sort.:)

Pork pie land.
Made me smile. Yet another cyclist in London who believes that traffic lights don't apply to cyclists. The prick went over on a red light and as I was crossing the road and he must have thought I'd stop to let him by, wrong ! My contract finishes today so I was prepared to risk it. He had to slam on his brakes and skidded in the wet and fell off.

I hope he's not too badly hurt !

Well done! :lol::lol::lol:

One of the funnyest things I ever saw was something similar - this idiot on a pushbike nearly hit a guy at a crossing, so the guy just kicked the front wheel of the bike as he went past - the idiot on the bike went flying!

I can imagine you being a tailgater, cycle hater, aggressive bitch and general all round wanker.

He loves getting unreasonably arsey on here about people who overreact to things or get oversensitive.

But watch how STROPPY he gets when you mention the scouts to him.

No. I didn't need them when it was light for obvious reasons, and I was just cycling on the track by the bowling greens at preston park so no cars were around. I probably was a little bit naive not to sort myself out properly, but I've got all the stuff now so no harm done.

Aaarrgghh! Freedom of choice! If I want to look like a dayglo geek I am perfectly capable of doint it all by myself. What I don't need is a police officer telling me that I SHOULD be wearing saddo kit when they should be spending more time on crime reduction.

I'm suprised I am the only one whos picked up on BHAactress's criminal behaviour.

In the US its Jaywalking and I'm sure there will be a UK equivellant.

what if the cyclist went ove the handlebars and broke his neck? Possible.

What if CCTV had clocked numpty looking at the cyclist and showing intent?Probable.

But then again I'm not suprised you didn't notice thicko.:lolol:
