About the ornament: was it a ceramic abstract thing whose finished form may have resembled a seashell in the eye of some beholders? Or was it intended to be a ceramic representation of a shell, but not very good, hence the term 'shell-like'. Or did it just look like an EAR?

Well? ???
It was actually a real shell like shelly thing. Yes, a seashell, one of those flat ones that fans out a bit. Its still on the shed roof actually, but I can't be bothered to take a picture of it.

Like one of these

Easy, if you have the bird flying loose and the windows open, how come it hasn't escaped?
That's how you lost Bruce wasn't it?

I did pull the legs off the one I ate with my bare hands -- does that count as torture?

In my defence, it had been roasting on a spit for a while, so I don't think it noticed...

Net curtains Yorkie. I still dont have the main windows open when he;s out though, just the small top one.

Bruce flew out the back door, which is un-curtained.

As is said, most cat owners are in denial. I bet yours' don't kill birds either and only poh in your garden.

Oh yes it does.....

most houses in our area have cats, therefore the bird population is very depleted...I cant remember the last time I saw a sparrow:(, Our cat likes to chase frogs....again there are loads of ponds around so the frog population is somewhat high ( a pain in the arse when you want to cut the grass too as I have mashed 1 or two in my time - I was mortified)

I have seen it poo across the road, and also in certain areas in my back garden ( and worryingly in our newly dug vegetable patch:angry:)

So Mr Chip....I am not in denial so dont pass judgement on people you know nothing whatsoever about

sadly on more than 1 occasion I have when I have seen her, although she is very good at burying the stuff.

Our next door neighbour has two cats who use our garden like a public loo as she has concreted over her from garden so they have nowhere to go.....we tried putting SCAT down ( stuff for stopping cats from crapping in your gardne) but she just sniffed it and carried on:censored:

I think you are out of order. Cats natural hunter instincts and all that. You over reacted and should be slightly ashamed of yourself to damage a cat in such a way. RSPCA will be in touch :lolol:

RSPCA in touch I doubt that the only thing they are in touch with is their money, nice cars and nice place to work.
did you know that over 50% of animals that come into the care of the RSPCA end up dead.............this is from there own figures.

Come one. Cats chose to live outside of polite society a long time ago. Licking their arses and shitting in my front garden. Why my front garden anyway. I’ve got the same little pebbles as everyone else in my street but only in my front garden are there 5-10 curly deposits a night.

The wife took my eldest to Battersea dogs home to get a pet for her 3rd birthday. My idea, an excellent one too. They came back with a f***ing cat! Here’s a tip, never let a three year old name its own animal. I am now sent out of the house every night in my dressing gown before I’m allowed to bed to shout “Hairy? HAIRY!!” down the street.

Hairy bastard.

:lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol: serves you right.

What must be remembered is that cats aren't stupid, at least not all of the time. I had a cat when I was a kid, some of his exploits were posted on here a couple of years ago, he met an untimely death from meningitis at the age of 10...having made the most of his 9 lives.

Anyway this cat, Charlie, had a very good memory. One day he was out in the garden at the precise moment that the chickens were released from their pen for their daily peck. Charlie spied that one of the hens had wandered off on her own and commenced a serious stalking operation, licking his lips cartoon stylee in anticipation of a feathery dinner. However, this was noticed by the cockerell and just as Charlie was about to strike he launched a counter attack on the salivating feline to foil his plans. As a result of this Charlie learnt his lesson, he never again tried to take out a chicken, he would sit and watch them digging up the garden with a look that was a mixture of frustration and disdain.

If you mistreat a cat it will remember you forever and avoid you at all costs, your birdie should be safe from his future attention.

great post and one up for the clucks love cats with attitude and even better when they get twarted.

What an irrelevant point. The RSPCA doesn't kill them cruelly for fun, it kills diseased animals who have no chance of being rehomed because if they didn't they'd have no money to care for any animals.

most of the depletion of birds is caused by city fumes and fecking farmers ploughing up the hedge rows admitted cats do catch birds but it would be very small amount in the big picture, sparrows are caught before they even get here by italians and the like who love to eat them.:flameboun

I don't give a fig about cats but guinea pigs are cute. How could you even think about eating this little fella?

The RSPCA always use in house blood tests which are very unreliable and especially as far as cats go with FIV (cat aids) they always PTS (put to sleep) or kill and a good percentage do not have FIV and anyway FIV cats can be re-homed as long as they are looked after its just that the good old RSPCA can't be bothered and you have obviously never seen the queques of very re-homable dogs going to be PTS in liverpool.
And it is only campaigning by people like myself that has stemmed this carnage if people were to neuter their animals this would not have to happen.

you might do well to go to one of the anti-RSPCA websites and have a look even if only half of what is said is true (but most of it is true) its a national disgrace that a large multi-million charity can get away with what they do.

So what is the difference between Easy 10 in the role of the cockerel defending his cockatiel? Cat got slapped, cat remembers.

As for hamsters and guinea pigs - tasty, but you need a couple to make it really worthwhile.
