great!

Looks like it's Dick doing to scouting again...

No! I am sure that DK tags along to assist him with the ins and outs of meeting with agents and the chairmen of other clubs!

Interesting stuff, I guess we all pretty much knew what the score was, but some people like to ignore reality. Like the reality of pointedly not turning up at Withdean doesn't help the club in its current situation.

I actively feel a bit guilty about not turning up to the Cup games!!

All I can say is for those of us that have a problem affording games let's take advantage of the pricing for the Boston game and prove the numbers and the support are still there.

It says something though that we have found out more from Attila talking to DK and posting on here than we have done from the man himself in the last few weeks.

The complete silence that seems to have come from him for a while is half of the problem. For example there were a lot of complaints about CKR going. But only now do we know there is a big sell on clause which does make a lot of sense and makes the deal look a lot better. This is the type of thing that if the club were focused on PR for the fans they could handle better.

Sadly it seems to a lot of people that Falmer is the only focus and that Dick Knight has taken his eye off the ball.

I just hope that we sign a couple of experienced loan players this week. Only that will silence the DK doubters I feel.

Sorry but that is complete rubbish. Dick Knight said there was money for new players and each of his detractors said "oh no there isn't". What are you meant to do beyond that? Start up a pantomime chant of "oh yes there is"?

Anyway I'd rather have the message from a die hard fan like Attila who is about as likely to spin and BS as Tony Blair is not to. What we are getting here is the message straight from the horses mouth but filtered through a crap detector.

Thanks attila, nicely put, I'm sure most folks will be heartened by that, if some of it was pretty obvious.

The amount of times people that question if there is any money get shouted down by "the club can do no wrong types" is ridiculous on here. We have money ! although if this arguement comes up again in a month or so , certain people will be banging the black hole blah blah , stirling job , drain on resources , no pot to piss in , cant afford this / that

we have money !

Perhaps now would be a good time to have a fans forum then ?

Okay fair play. I take what you are saying. But sadly I am not one of the people currently not going to Withdean. I'm willing to believe in Dick Knight but for the vast majority of "floating" fans the lack of investment in the team is the real issue, and they will point out to me how much easier it is to say there is money available than to actually spend it!! Sadly since January we have been told we are in the market for a proven goalscorer, we apparently have the money and yet we haven't bought one. Fine, the diehards amongst us will still turn up but to the thousands of floating fans thats not good enough as has been shown by the recent attendances. Ultimately talking won't improve the squad, fans need to see it happening.

Very interesting use of English there Atilla. is that exactly what DK said? If so then I wonder what his criteria for people putting money into the club will be

"Dick confirmed what I already knew. When Falmer is given the green light there will doubtless be wealthy people coming out of the woodwork ready to jump on the bandwagon."

I will hold my hand up and apologise for being a doubter as well as being mightily relieved and delighted if the money is actually forthcoming for decent loans very soon and an aquisition or two come the transfer window.

I think after a year and a half of "talk" I have the right to question though.

Of course talk is cheap and until we see some proper signings that actually strengthen the team the gates and performances will suffer.
Still nice to see after 10 years that Attilla still believes everything the clubs chairman tells him :dunce:

I think sadly that again the "floating" fan will not take what Attila says too seriously. You are seen as being part of the club now. Part of Dick Knight's merry band. Rergardless of whether that is the case, that is how you will be seen. Therefore it doesn't matter what is said by you to get the fans back and for DK to be fully supported again we need investment and we need it quickly.

The point about the Orient guy seems very lame. We did have all summer, but yet seemed to run out of time on negotiations! Looking at that independantly it just seems very odd, or at best smacks of desperation.

'Bandwagon' was my choice of words.

If we spent £100, 000 on a player who turned out to be the new Mark Farrington everyone would be even more fed up than we are now. The money is there and the will to spend it is there. Let's hope that DK and DW can make the same astute choices on the player front that DK has managed over and over again on the manager front.

Attilla means nothing to the casual fan, so what he says wouldn't mean a jot just a club employee toeing the line.
Ian Harts opinion carries far more weight as an independant BBC journalist to the average man on the street.

which was the crux of the arguments yesterday John.....if these people were fans who share our ambitions for the club, like Norman Cook, they wouldnt worry about waiting for a Falmer or wherever, they would see we were struggling and put whatever money in they could, in the same was as many of us put money into the 40 note fund.

Agreed.

That said I'm not knocking Attila, or his attempts to gain the truth and a better understanding. I'm also not saying what he says isn't true, just that ultimately he is "seen" as too close to have an opinion that is separate to the club.

Dick Knight's refusal to go on the air with Ian Hart is something which says a lot to most fans. Ian Hart still voices the opinion of the majority, if DK for whatever reason is not willing to take questions from Ian then people will start to doubt him.
