I've been messaging a few old acquaintances in other countries during the last few weeks and they're on lock-down too, but they're all observing it where they are, it's being properly enforced, they're doing social distancing, one in particular would have loved to be able walk round the park and do what we're supposed to be doing in that regard, but they all do wonder WTAF is wrong with us in this country with what's happening here.

Stay safe.

It’s quite astounding.

I had a big wobble on Friday. Just wanted to call in sick and isolate and stay away from it. Nearest I’ve come to a panic attack. Seemed overwhelming. But I chatted to friends and I calmed down. Plus, no way I would leave my colleagues to deal with all that while I sit in my garden.

Thanks. You stay safe too.

People need to stop blaming each other, yes there's a few people taking the piss but the rules are everyone is allowed out to exercise ect atm, we aren't in full lockdown and never have been. If you want to blame anyone for the people dying, blame the government for not acting quicker. Its very clever that the blame will be put on us after all this ends and people will go back to hating on each other. I've seen people on Facebook with big gardens slagging people off for being out and then see photos of them out and about walking! ****ing hypocrites eh?

Where I live people are being really good about staying in and distancing when they are out, except at the supermarket.
All sense seems to disappear there. Trying to stick to local and small independent shops but sometimes gotta hit the big store.

Unfortunately supermarkets are probably the most dangerous places to go to at present. As it is only one person per trolley I let Mrs Hut happily lead off these days.

Going the numbers mentioned by the government throughout, 15% seems to the proportion who throughout can't be arsed with any of this. The authorities and independent epidemiologists are always delighted with the 85% stat, it massively reduces the UK's likely death toll.

For me it nails the proportion of the country who totally selfish scum, often criminally minded anyway, going by the numerous validated reports of emergency workers being spat and coughed at.

As for the rest, it's heart warming that overall we're not a bad nation.

Did a reasonable run this morning on mid Sussex roads, didn't encounter anyone who wasn't very respectful of distancing rules except a couple of cyclists who whizzed past pretty close. Not much traffic about, I crossed the A23 twice and it was dead The second time I crossed it on the bridge I could only see one vehicle in either direction, and this was late morning).

Agreed, that one's quite an eye-opener.

I imagine this video showed ethnic minorities but not the ones that make up a sizeable chunk of the health service.

I don’t disagree with either decision but it does beg the question, why is it okay for both the PM and the Queen to travel to their second residences but not okay for the rest of us?

Sadly, in any community, irrespective of size, there will always be a minority who don't care at all, and are totally shameless. These will be precisely the same people, who, having then developed the virus, will be the ones in A&E being abusive and demanding treatment ahead of others. This is my general experience as well. Not seen anything out of order in Haywards Heath or Lindfield, people are taking it seriously, roads are dead.

Back in Sussex
It's my Dad's birthday tomorrow, so we we walked the dog to my parents house, which is literally 'round the corner' to drop his presents off, we were going to leave them on the step, but the front door was open, so I put them in the hall and called out, they were having lunch, so came to the hall, I was trying to keep my distance, as the dog was trying to get into the lounge !! My Mum then says, "We've been a bit naughty, Mavis is here". This is her good family friend, who lives in Hailsham, we are in Crowborough, so she has driven down, picked her up and had her stay for the Easter Weekend. I am fuming. My daughter lives with my ex in Brighton, I haven't seen her for about 5 weeks, and don't envisage seeing her for another 4/5 weeks, because I/we are following guidelines. My Mum is an intelligent/educated woman, a teacher of 20 odd years. If people like that are sticking 2 fingers up to the restrictions, no surprise if these will be extended for weeks more

If we say it is circa 15%, they need to announce the extension of lock-down as soon as soon they can in my opinion. I can see a lot of idiots in this country thinking everything will go back to normal tomorrow.

I am genuinely wondering if my employer is also waiting to see what is announced before making moves to mobilise resources to issue more equipment to WFH.

I agree, people I know where laid off for 3 weeks, they are probably expecting to go back tomorrow (not sure as a bit cut off from them all just now)
Sure I heard on the news that lock down is being reviewed Thursday though

I read earlier whether social distancing measures can be changed is being reviewed by Thursday - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52266314

They need to get on and formally announce and clarify what's going to happen and that lock-down is being extended though and get the message across, as I'm convinced there will be some people who think it ends tomorrow - 'but someone said on Facebook it's ended, 'cos that Boris bloke said it was only for 3 weeks ' - I can see it happening.
