How long has Slade got?

Unfortunately that is the case with NSC now, never mind what you say, the same old people always seem to respond in the same manner.

That's absolute poppycock. I don't care what you say, Dean Wilkins did brilliantly during his second season at the club and would have cemented a play off place last year if he had stayed on and been backed by the board.

I have zero expectation after the shambles last season the most important issue is that building Falmer carries on for me.

Now, I know half of you are going to respond "f*** off you miserable wanker" without reading this.
QUOTE]

1) The "half of you" is a bit of a slight understatement i reckon
2) You took the words right out of my mouth seeing as it sounds you are a "miserable wanker"
3) Are you always a miserable dick?

If you want to support this club then support it but if you want to continue on moaning and continue being a miserable git then f*** off and find another club!

Most success usually comes with stability and not chopping and changeing the manager,as well as the playing staff.I for one really hopes RS gets it right,as i dont belive that BIG NAME managers are very rarely the answer. This has been proved time and time again,i just hope Mr Bloom is as shrewd about football,as he is about making money. But the fact remains, this is a results business, lets just hope RS is given time to get the results,as most of us know or suspect,he was not Mr Blooms prefered choice. This in itself puts RS under pressure, before a ball is kicked in anger.

We were 8 points from safety with very few games in hand and he kept us up. Under no circumstances should any true Brighton fan ever boo the man.

Even if it all goes badly wrong, he should be above abuse now. Not above questioning but should not be barracked.

Funny really, there's some good posts in this thread. I think it fair to say if I had posted this under a different username there wouldn't be the same old moronic replies coming from the same old sad obsessive's who seem to enjoy picking on my posts. :whisky:

I think it's a valid question but you didn't finish it in the title, "what you meant was "How long has Slade got until fans get on his back?"

Perhaps a case of the boy who cried wolf as well.

And a bit of Tim Tyler: the Boy who couldn't smile.

If he still has a job come the home game with Yeovil, I will be amazed.

I love Russell Slade, but I have a horrible feeling it's all going to go wrong.

If we had finished 16th after being in the play offs for most of the season, we would be looking at this season with dreading for the worse, hoping the slide doesnt continue

Having finished 16th, avoiding relegation on the final day,m everyone is feeling optimisitc and assuming we will get a play off spot minimum (or at least a top 10 finish)

I think Slade will have time, as we are building a squad pretty much from scratch for the second season in a row, meaning it will take time to gel. The way to solve it is to stick with pretty much the same team, no matter if we are not winning. Last year, we were losing, changing the team every week and never recovered because there were new signings coming every month, not being allowed to play in 2 competitions, and it was like none of the players knew each others names, let a lone pass a football to each other.

I think its an interesting thread, NOT negative as WW never said he wants Slade out, just asking a question of how long he has got

I think there is a quiet by growing discontent on this board about our handling of transfers, the release of popular players set the tone in many ways, people wont be pleased we have essentially been outbid on everyone we have moved on, and even loanees who liked the club and whom the fans loved wont commit, our best players dont want to play for us either, that said its June, mid june, i dont feel the discontent others do, are these the same people that get all worried when a car pulls up outside their house? I think after the momentum gained towards the end of last season culminating in Slades appointment some people seemed to think it wouldnt relent through out the summer, and were expecting a full, champioinship quality squad ready by the end of jun e ready to start preseason training, i never expected this, so im not worried.

OK so the family are moving out of our village in two weeks time, Russell's young family are having to leave their schools and relocate to Brighton, his wife, Lisa, has been spending time in Brighton trying to sort schools and accommodation and its a hell of an upheaval. I am very likely to see him this weekend when we have our village festival (even entering a Russell Slade scarecrow in the village comp to wind up the Yeovil fans and to pay homage to our amazing great escape) and we are already doubting his ability.

Give me a break - I know players are on their way but have kept silent. Please do not make the same mistake with Russell - he has potential so let him manage and support him.

Enough said!

Who is doubting his ability?

Indeed.

I don't think he has got long mind, Bloom wants almost instant success and quite simply I don't see us being top 2 ( and probably not top 6 ). I think Slade is quality but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him gone by December.

I'm going to start booing Slade if we don't score in the first 20 minutes.

I think it is a reasonable point. We have had to endure some pretty poor football ever since we survived on the last day of the Championship, despite some rousing performances and one decent league finish on the way. People are fed up with Withdean and people are fed up with paying high prices. The manager is the likely scapegoat on matchdays. I should hope that we can find a little bit od patience and give Slade a chance to build on his decent start.

The trouble is, we finished off last season and one of the form teams and the crowds will automatically expect a title/play off charge.

This is the truth. come Black November the usual suspects will be yelling for blood.

I think this is a reasonable question - I certainly see no reason for such hostility for someone posing it. There's certainly been a degree of impatience among Brighton fans (and the directors) in the past few years, a trait that wasn't there a couple of decades ago. In my first 30 years of watching the Albion, we had 13 managers, in the next 12, we had 11 - that's some attrition rate we have now.

We've seen several managers under pressure after a run of just a few bad results - and this time we have a new chairman who may be less inclined to be patient. I agree with Ninja Elephant, I'd be surprised to see him in his job by the yeovil game; pleasantly surprised, but surprised all the same.
