How long has Slade got?

Mr Slade is on holiday, lets see what happens when he gets back.I never abuse any other Albion fan on here but i have made an exception this time, ffs there is over 6 weeks to kick off and you should be optimistic.
Just think back to the mid nineties or even a few wewks ago when we thought we were relegated.I think you and WW are the fickle ones.

Oh behave. There is nothing 'fickle' about this.

We stayed up on the back of goals from Lloyd Owusu and Calvin Andrew.
Our player of the season was Andy Whing.
Our midfield relied on Gary Dicker.

2, and possible 3 or 4 of those won't be with us next season. So at the moment, things aren't going that great. However, there's LOADS of time for that to change, hence I am not starting a 'Slade out' campaign here.

I was simply asking the question about how much time supporters in general will give him to get things right.

Personally I don't really know - I am not expecting much, but then if i'm going to be forking out to watch us away from home/paying £20+ to go to Withdean, I won't be tolerating shit either.

I am quite fickle, but only because i was so disappointed with last season and Mr adams never really giving us a reason for why we were so shit. Plus after swindon i don't think many people thought we'd stay up.

I completely agree with WW's argument. The constant seemingly incapability in the transfer markets slowly ebbing away at my respect for slade, I havent bought my season ticket yet because of this, always seems to me brighton dont want to stick their necks out and get players in early before everybody else

I do not think that TB will accept failure so if we are not in a play off position or very near to by end of November or begining of December it will be goodbye to Russel and hello to a wellknown named manager.

The pressuare Slade is under from Bloom is a completely different issue.

I would imagine that to be MUCH GREATER than the pressure from the fans, particularly if he does eventually spend a fair bit of Bloom's money.

Agreed....he wanted Pardew, so don't be surprised if he comes in by end of Dec.

I actually think we've got 3 really difficult away games in August. Brentford are a bogey team for us and it's their first home league game in L1, Hudds have suddenly found loads of money and are active in the transfer market and Millwall could easily turn over any team in the league. We may well find ourselves billing the Wycombe game as a 'must win' and Slade could be saying 'I didn't think we had to be in the top half by September'.

I'd like to think we're more realistic than that but some of the people on this board have proven me wrong time and time again.

So far though we've had a bit of a shocker of a summer, stadium aside, and there already seems to be a whiff of discontent in the air (and it's not only from me). We've got no players, nobody wants to join us and our best ones want out. And this is with what people are guessing is a biggest transfer budget than any Albion manager has had in years.

The transfer window opens on 1st July; for all we know Slade has signed a player or two but is keeping it on the sush until the transfer window opens. On the other hand, this could be completely the opposite. However, we have a chairman who has the money we have dreamed for a long time, but, once we enquire about a player Slade wants to sign - because of the wealth Bloom possesses - the asking will be much higher than SLade would have wanted.

And jesus christ Bloom has only been chairman for less than two months. Ever heard the saying "Rome wasn't built in a day". These things take time, be patient and wait and see what the outcome is.

Only half?

He must stay a least 2 years so he can do a good job. As for having no players what the f*** are you on it's still only June

f*** off you miserable wanker!

3 games, they must all be classics of international class and we must win by 4 goals in each one - or he HAS to go.

What an utter tosser you are WW.

Please, please go and support someone else.

Sorry pal, but "f*** off you miserable Wanker" is the only thing that comes to mind when you start a thread like this. I am not even considering "how long Slade has got" it is not in my mind, and it really shouldn't be in anyones heads. People like you start these threads purely to get a reaction, just like this, to make yourself feel noticed. Well done, you have succeeded. Dick.

Well said

for f*** sakes go and get laid virgin boy

Seconded!
Just a few weeks ago the guy was held as a hero by fighting of relegation and was mobbed by fans.
Now with over 6 weeks to go before the new season starts, this twat starts a thread about how long has he got before fans turn on him.

WE DONT NEED FANS LIKE YOU. So f*** OFF.

f*** me!!! what a total toss of a post.........even if i did only read the 1st few lines of it.

Funny really, there's some good posts in this thread. I think it fair to say if I had posted this under a different username there wouldn't be the same old moronic replies coming from the same old sad obsessive's who seem to enjoy picking on my posts. :whisky:

Like has previously been said, Bloom's investment and the form we had towards the end of last season will make expectations of some higher than they should be. Bloom said that he wanted us to be challenging for a top-two finish but he and many fans need to understand that instant success is not guaranteed, look at QPR, everyone thought they'd do well with the investment they got but last season they finished in mid-table and have gone through four managers in one year. Hopefully we won't be like that; we need to give one manager time and then see what eventually happens, hopefully it'll be success but that can't be guaranteed.

I know I was a twat about Slade when he first joined the club, but he kept us up and proved me wrong, so I wish him all the best whilst he is here. Ideally I'd like us to get promoted this season but realisticly I understand that is unlikely to happen.

Unfortunately that is the case with NSC now, never mind what you say, the same old people always seem to respond in the same manner.
