No ones panicking. Just a few observations towards the impending sale

People are saying we are "going backwards" etc. It's nonsense until we know who is coming in as their replacements. If we replace Crofts with someone better how is that going backwards?

You are absolutely correct. It's all about trusting Gus.

K Lua Lua back on season-long loan, a dynamic box to box midfielder and a big "bustling" goal machine, and it's all change again.

Quite.

I trust in Gus.

Losing your top goalscorer, captain and the best RB we've had in years, and then having to reform a team which has basically lost it's backbone, sounds like going backwards to me.

I think Gus is going to get fit and be our very own Player Manager Flair Captain General in the middle of the park:thumbsup:

GUS knows exactly what he is doing.
I trust that he does. No-one knows what Crofts offers to the team (and what we'll be losing with his departure) better than Poyet. He made him captain after all, and has praised him on many occasions. You have to believe that Gus wouldn't be accepting the offer if he didn't think he could get in a better replacement.

Besides, could be worse - he could be off to a League One rival.

But we have no idea who is coming in, how can you say we are going backwards in May and Poyet has yet to make his moves in the transfer market yet. Chill

Perhaps it was just me that noticed this but when Poyet took over he was quoted as saying Crofts will attract attention from other clubs in several articles, at the time I thought it looked like Gus was putting him in the shop window and maybe he was.

I like Crofts attitude and it would be sad to see him go but should we get a decent wedge for him I’m pretty confident Poyet will replace him with someone with at least equal abilities.

37 year old whingeing Forward who has had his best days, a RB who didnt want to sign for us and a captain who we got for free 12 months ago for a decent fee.

All sounds good to me.

According to my starting 11 above, we need about 2-3 new players.

Not exactly a mega overhaul.

If we are welcoming offers, which it seems we might be, then expect some for Bennett and possibly Murray too. Will that reduce the squad sufficiently for you to be concerned? :lolol:

Let's not overlook the fact that our manager has not yet signed on for longer either...for whatever reason.

You have to wonder how we can mount a promotion bid with such gaping holes in teh sqaud. It's going to be another transitional season I'm afraid.

Forster - Gus had literally NO other viable option. Give me one if you have one.
Calderon - Again, not sure how Calde f**king us over is Gus's fault. Good man for sticking to his principles.
Crofts - will almost definitely be replaced by someone better.

So no, I don't think we're going backwards.

Eh? ONE player has been sold at what sounds like stunningly good value for us (ie anything about about 150k).
