Easy I could not agree more. But what is pissing me off here is that DK keeps making out all these players are money grabbing as they have been made excellent offers.
Why can't he be just honest and admit we cannot compete with the offers other clubs will and do offer?
These players do not in my opinion deserve to have their names blackened.

If the club shows ambition he'd stay
You really believe Hammond was slagged off to the extent he would want to leave the club he grew up in. Get real, he's a professional footballer. By moving to Colchester he's shown it was just about the money.
Anyway, he's gone now, lets look at the positives - we got £250 000 for an average player who would have left for nothing in the summer.

What i was trying to say is he probably had more reasons to go than stay. Money id obviously the main reason, but i believe there were others. If it was just about money he would have refused any transfer and waiting for that big signing on fee in the summer. Coupled with the fact that most people seemed to be slagging him off probably added to the reasons to go

How is that a lie... he wants to play in the championship. The club wouldn't take the risk, so rightly we sold him. If he was all about money, he could have turned down Colchester and picked up a big signing on fee in the summer

You are clearly only reading what you want to read.
However, by moving to Colchester he'll be earning substantially more money that if he stayed at Brighton. Also, there will no doubt be a claue which allows him to leave if Colchester get relegated and recieve his large signing on fee.

Well, it looks like he'll get...oooh...a good 3-4 months worth of Championship football now, doesn't it. I dunno what Colchester are paying him, but this "show ambition" malarky was clearly a smokescreen - he just wanted more money, simple as. Perfectly understandable, and it happens all the time.
Why couldn't he just be honest about it, instead of taking us all for mugs ?

If the club really really wanted Dean to stay (didnt have the scot midfielder lined up as a potential replacement and weren't interested in taking 250k if it came their way) then they would have offered him this 'substantial' new contract offer about a year ago rather than even letting it get to the stage where his agent was touting round for a new club.
Im sure the club did want him to stay but as soon as their resolve was tested they were happy to take the money.

As are you.. have you heard Hammond actually say anything ?
DK and the agent are both lying, somewhere in the middle is the truth, something we will probably never know.
At the end of the day have we moved forward over the past 12 months, no !!
In fact this season is turning into an exact copy of last.... so maybe time for Hammond to move on as very unlikely we will be playing Championship football for a while yet

And last nights result and the fact it is now 1 win in the last seven games makes promotion even through the play offs extremely doubtfull. Therefore Championship football has more chance at Colchester than Brighton.

The thing is Colchester have done what we should have done when in there position, something we said would save us. They have spent money, it is't impossible they can stay up, if not they could have a decet shout at going straight back up. I'm not saying Hammond has been 100% honest, but not sure it is all a lie either

I do believe that part of an agents job is to speak on behalf of his client

Will everyone STOP being so bitter. Who died?!!!! Mediocre player leaves mediocre old club for mediocre new club. That's all.
Personally, I wish him luck. Decent player, we'll miss some parts of his play but he's not irreplaceable. Fresh blood, lot of new faces, this saturday's game is actually the most exciting to look forward to in a long time!
But it's not CRIME to leave BHA people. Booing him on his return; you're just so churlish and full of unfounded hate. Simmer down and save it for Leon Knight's next visit!!!
