Had to get this off my Chest after Sunday Poyet and his Obsession with Barnes

If you couldn't see how much work Barnes was doing in the first half, you couldn't have been watching the game properly.
I can see the point about CMS and Vokes playing together when the subs were made.
Sadly a lot of BHA fans need to have a hate figure ....usually Barnes or Harley.

Good comments well made. Get of players backs

Lots of players have been converted from strikers to midfield over the years so I suppose Gus know best with Barnes.
I must admit I don`t see half of what you lot see when he plays but then as proved on here before..... what the feck do I know.

Meopham, Kent.
Good young forward.
Always puts in a shift - REALLY don't know where you get "lazy" from mate? Honestly, not a clue.
Plays out of position on a regular basis without any indication of complaint.
Tucks away penalties, which 2 season back we were making look VERY difficult.

Not sure what there is to dislike about the fella, but clearly (as previously said) some people have nominated him and Harley as the "hate figures" to be blamed for anything that ever goes wrong. My tip is "get off his back" because you're starting to look a bit foolish. "Lazy"? Honestly, I'm just confused now.

Guy next to me in the pub thought Barnes was the worst player he'd ever seen in a Brighton shirt and was the player to shoulder most of the blame for our performance on Sunday, he was about 70 and a season ticket holder. Thank f*** I don't have to sit next to him at the Amex

Sounds like the guys who sit around me at the Amex. The Ashley Barnes fan club. No matter how small the mistake they will always yell about how useless he is and how he should be subbed straight away. To be honest, it doesn't even need to be Barnes that has made a mistake (or even be near the ball) to incur their wrath. Anyone that looks even vaguely like Barnes (i.e. white with brown hair) makes a mistake = Ashley Barnes' fault

Pork pie land.
I think people should get off Barnes' back.

The lad was playing for Eastbourne Borough on loan a couple of years ago. Look how far he has come since.

I definitely think that he is "one for the future" rather than being the finished article right now. He shows good movement and vision. His technical ability can range from good to bad, and I guess Gus and his staff are working on that.

However, I do not understand how he gets so much match time - unless it is in case we get a penalty... ....

Poor old Barnes, must wonder what he needs to do to please some fans, hatricks galore, goal line clearances every game perhaps. Lucky for him its Gus that picks the team and in Gus we trust....

Why??... If a person has a view of a player, negative or positive, then its a free forum,.... I for one would have Barnes out of the side. We could do without 'triers' or 'headless chickens'..... Gus may have him in until someone else fills that gap, but filled it will be.

If we get a functioning central midfield 'General', with vision to keep the forwards employed for 90 minutes, then watch CMS go. Lets hope Razak is the one.

Get rid, not good enough for a Sunday School team, let alone Sunday playing Liverpool at Anfield. And before you come out with crap nonsense such as he has scored more goals for the Albion than the other 10 who started put together, or if it wasn't for him Palace would have done the double over the Albion for the first time since 1934/5, LISTEN TO ME BECAUSE I KNOW SHIT WHEN I SEE IT

SHIT singing of 'You'll Never Walk Alonee', SHIT re-telling of jokes from Sir Jimmy Tarbuck, SHIT 'Calm Down Barry' impersonation in a black wig, has never heard of Derek Hatton, and thinks that Dead or Alive were a better Liverpool band than The Teardrop Explodes.

GET......................RID....................NOW

Not one of them is Ashley Barnes. They may have appeared lazy, as they were just standing there for two hours, but they were in fact fellow supporters, watching the match. I wouldn't be surprised if you were one of the dimwits near me, who struggled with the words and timing of "Albbbbiiiiooooon, Albbbbbiiiooooon".

Barnes is everywhere tackling and holding up the ball i was sat behind the goal watching his defensive work in the first half and in the second i see him getting into positions ard calling for the ball to be played through to him to have a chance of scoring but was always ignored he works his nuts of...

This sounds like the guy that sits a few rows behind us in WSUD - probably R or S 96/97. A tedious durge throughout the entire 90 minutes compounded by continuing bewilderment at his selection because Barnes "clearly doesn't know where a proper centre forward should play". No wonder people start going for their half-time pies after 15 minutes.

Gentlemen

This isnt about getting on Poor ole Ashleys Back, this isnt about having a pop at "Someone" This is an opinion shared by many who watch us week in and week out.

At the end of the Day ask your self this (Before the last 2 Signings) If all were fit would Barnes be one of the best 11 players at the club? IMHO No not by a long chalk.

When Barnes loses the ball, he will do 1 of 3 things: 1, Commit a foul to get the ball back, or 2, stand there for 4-5 seconds and then jog towards play to see if he can win it back or 3, Moan at the officials or the player who tackled him.

I hope and only hope that once the new midfield is born that Gus does 2 things:
1 Play Bertie and CMS together
2, Drop Barnes.
