It’s a bit annoying that we seem to turn all our managers into misery’s !!

I’m guessing we must lose out on loads of targets as we don’t stretch the budget in any shape or form. But surely it can’t be that bad managing us.

I can imagine Tony having an in depth conversation with GPot either way, discussing long term goals, likely investment, playing style etc - Tony doesn't hold grudges and I'm sure he's still on good terms with him.

For Potter to be considered to come back, he'd have to build bridges with the fans though. His increasingly chippy attitude towards any criticism last time was f***ing annoying, for someone who claims to understand emotional intelligence, he never displayed it in his own behaviour. I don't think an apology would be needed, not explicitly, but his bahaviour would have to reflect his humility.

I was as frustrated as anyone during the barren spells under Potter, but I will say that in that period before he left (across 2 seasons) we were playing a much more entertaining style, scoring goals and looking good for top 10. If he was to come back, I'd hope that; he can convince us he cares, we can get past his departure and we can play the style of football we saw v Leicester etc.

Win a couple of games and the bridge is in place no more difficult than that. Criticism yeah clearly he didnt like it or cope with it well but imho better than Roberto playing the blame Tony no new signings card any time asked why we lose big against bad teams. Maybe I have thick skin but neither the boos or Potter complaining about it was a big deal imho but clearly that stuck with people. Main reason I dont think Tony is going with Potter again is that the margins would be too slim. Most new managers get the honeymoon phase where all they do is seen as great but Potter would not of had it this time and bad start to his second spell would be turbulent to say the least

A bit like P*lace and Hodgson. I'm quite certain he couldn't lift the mood or expectations. exactly we proved when he left we could get an upgrade, we do not need a backward step, we need to improve and that means an upgrade again.
It is not like we are not an attractive prospect to anyone, we are as we know well run, with an improving squad and money to spend if required, we are beholden to know one or FFP.
Good managers will be kicking the door down to come here.

I suppose I could at least go back to sleeping through home games as we go on massive winless and goalless runs again and we can all look forward to finishing 12th.

One of the reasons I would be open to Potter returning is the uncomfortable scenario of Roberto moving, Potter getting the England job and Southgate looking for a PL team which could well be us

I think Eddie is going to be the next England manager after Gareth. I expect they won't go for a foreign option anytime soon. Gareth to ManU or to become some sort of big wig at FA.

Potter will become a PL manager again, but I don't think it's going to be us. I don't think Bloom is ready to risk the mood to become "stagnant" here. Surely he's nice, polite and corporate, but lacking fire, enthusiasm and "minerals". Nottingham, P*lace, Everton for Potter depending on who's staying up.
