One of the reasons I would be open to Potter returning is the uncomfortable scenario of Roberto moving, Potter getting the England job and Southgate looking for a PL team which could well be us
This post reads like minutes from a COBRA meeting listing a series of disasters that could lead to total societal collapse.

It was alright for you going to away games.

In the calendar year 2021 we didn't witness a single win at the Amex, as I missed Brentford on Boxing Day.
By contrast, the Brentford game was the only home match I went to in that period.
I don't know what everybody's moaning about. :lolol:

To be fair, after that match at Villa Park where we spent pretty much the whole game passing it backwards and forwards to no apparent effect only to concede 3 goals in the last 5minutes or so I was so fed up that I quit the Internet for about 6months to avoid having to talk about it.

Any reason why you stopped at the Norwich game? What happened next?!

Come on GB, even you were converted in the end!
Well, because it was the end of the run I described

Converted for a short period until we employed a coach with ambition and the ability to win home games. RDZ has shown up all of Potter's failings. And, I suspect his successor, whoever that is, will have areas where he surpasses RDZ - defending and goalkeeper selection being two obvious ones.

Totally different circumstances and taking nsc as a sample size most people knew it.

Muzza loved life here. Poyet didn’t think Muzza worthy of a Championship level contract and didn’t like a player requesting it. So he got rid, deeming CMS better. CP allowed Muzza to carry on living in Brighton.
agreed definitely some differences but at least outside nsc, i do remember a sizeable amount of people not being entirely happy with murray rejoining. perhaps this has been forgotten due to the immense success he had after returning. even when the question of whether or not GM is a ‘legend’ comes up, which i firmly believe he is, there is always a cohort who claim he cannot ever possibly be considered a legend due to his spell up the road (this is of course nonsense)

my point overall is that whilst TB would consider all factors, he wouldn’t let fickle popular opinion prevent him from making a logical footballing decision. if Potter was the best available option when De Zerbi left, he’d at least be seriously considered

Yes, the whingers will never stop whinging - always seek out a bad patch and hark on about it ad-infinitem as if their highly selective set of bad statistics represents the norm (they don't), ignoring the very successful turn around to very good times indeed, which inconveniently gets in the way of the moaning agenda!

Wasn’t Potters own comments about us enough to never want him back.? The easy life at Brighton I would want a manager with ambition not a dosser who couldn’t care less as long as we stayed in the league.

The Brighton fan base in general is far to forgiving happy to be second best every defeat or poor performance is brushed off with well we used to be crap once. Potter took that on board and grabbed it with borh hands and then used it against the clubs fans to escape criticism when they had a moan. And people want him back FFS.

As a more or less neutral, isn’t Potter right then? Life at Brighton is easier than at Chelsea … or Spurs/Man Utd. Or Rennes vs PSG/Marseilles, Hoffenheim vs FC Bayern/Dortmund, Kalmar vs any of the clubs from Stockholm. Can’t believe that so many of you have a hang up on this or the so called history lesson.

No, the dick said when he was under pressure at Chelsea “If I wanted an easy life I could have stayed at Brighton” Disrespectful in the extreme imo, he can do one. He was given so much leeway by TB as we struggled to win games we should have and our record at the time would have got him sacked by most clubs. It seems he had forgotten that with that comment.

I wasn’t bothered by the “history lesson” comments though. Only the thin skinned would be as it was a reaction to a very few number of fans booing after the Leeds 0-0. Potter himself seems to have pretty thin skin though ironically

Ive seen that comment mentioned here and there but I always read it as him leaving an incredibly well run from top to bottom machinery to the massive task of rebuilding a direction less club club like Chelsea

Sons second game was the Leicester home win, was a hard sell after that period to keep him interested. At least he’s been Albion conditioned I guess

I cant see why anyone would want him. I say that based on some recent form and results, sure his hands are somewhat tied with injuries etc but arent all teams in same position? What team above us/bigger than us would want him? Overall Im happy with him here so Ihope he doesnt go. If he does Eddie Howe be perfect.

Arsenal, West Ham, Villa, Fulham, Everton, Spurs and Abu Dhabi aren’t missing a load of key first teamers long term. We have been unlucky.

In answer to your question, because another club might see a special talent in RDZ, in the same way that StarLizard did in Sept 22. Perhaps he’ll thrive again in squad with quality cover in all positions?

If you don’t win games you are under pressure at any club from top of the PL to non league it’s no different. Tony has ambitions just less than Chelsea and if those ambitions aren’t being met (Hughton) off you go.
