Not as laughable as the over-analysis of DeZ looking a bit tired and grumpy from time to timeI honestly can't believe the posts on here re Potter.
Laughable
If we stick 5 past Liverpool, we're probably drawing 5-all or losing.I wonder how RDZ will feel about being at best second choice from all these potential suitors. I can’t see Liverpool making him their first choice, even if we stick 5 past them either.
It’s a bit annoying that we seem to turn all our managers into misery’s !!I would love it, I mean really love it, if the RDZ who first walked into the club, comes back in July.
The man we've turned him into - not so much.
Win a couple of games and the bridge is in place no more difficult than that. Criticism yeah clearly he didnt like it or cope with it well but imho better than Roberto playing the blame Tony no new signings card any time asked why we lose big against bad teams. Maybe I have thick skin but neither the boos or Potter complaining about it was a big deal imho but clearly that stuck with people. Main reason I dont think Tony is going with Potter again is that the margins would be too slim. Most new managers get the honeymoon phase where all they do is seen as great but Potter would not of had it this time and bad start to his second spell would be turbulent to say the leastI can imagine Tony having an in depth conversation with GPot either way, discussing long term goals, likely investment, playing style etc - Tony doesn't hold grudges and I'm sure he's still on good terms with him.
For Potter to be considered to come back, he'd have to build bridges with the fans though. His increasingly chippy attitude towards any criticism last time was f***ing annoying, for someone who claims to understand emotional intelligence, he never displayed it in his own behaviour. I don't think an apology would be needed, not explicitly, but his bahaviour would have to reflect his humility.
I was as frustrated as anyone during the barren spells under Potter, but I will say that in that period before he left (across 2 seasons) we were playing a much more entertaining style, scoring goals and looking good for top 10. If he was to come back, I'd hope that; he can convince us he cares, we can get past his departure and we can play the style of football we saw v Leicester etc.
exactly we proved when he left we could get an upgrade, we do not need a backward step, we need to improve and that means an upgrade again.I don't want Potter back. Not because he left us, but because it would be "the safe option". It wouldn't be exciting and new for the players or anybody else for that matter. A bit like P*lace and Hodgson. I'm quite certain he couldn't lift the mood or expectations. Also some of the staff might feel that he's just taking it as a job to do something after being paid huge sums coaching and leaving Ch*lsea.
Thats exactly how some of our "ITK" supporters behave. Makes them feel important I suppose.I saw a story this morning that it was Bayer Leverkusen, not Bayern Munich who wanted him, following Alonso's pending departure. Cant remember if the source was Metro or one of the other rags...
It's almost as if they make this shit up and then hope that one of the stories turns out to be true so that they can say: "SEE? Told you so!"
A massive winless and goal-less run like this, you mean? (sorry about the format - the cut and paste was a bit wonky).I absolutely despair of our fanbase sometimes.
De Zerbi, who's been loyal to the club, agreed to a contract where he can only move post season and who got a decimated squad to the last 16 of the Europa League needs to go (based on perceived demeanour at press conferences and a Twitter rumour to sell papers) and the dull yes man who was loyal right up to the point Chelsea flashed their knickers mid-season and then helped them asset strip us needs to come in?
I suppose I could at least go back to sleeping through home games as we go on massive winless and goalless runs again and we can all look forward to finishing 12th.

The reception area at Lancing is equipped with motion-sensor doors, so anyone trying that will probably end up lying flat on their back in the foyer. That's no way to arrive for an interview.Good managers will be kicking the door down to come here.

One of the reasons I would be open to Potter returning is the uncomfortable scenario of Roberto moving, Potter getting the England job and Southgate looking for a PL team which could well be usCrazy as it seems, but if Southgate departs the England job after the summer there would be every chance that Graham Potter could be the next England manager.
Making any talk of him returning to Brighton irrelevant.
History has shown how the public treated Bobby Robson, Graham Taylor, Kevin Keegan, Steve McLaren, Roy Hodgson.
He would be walking into a bear pit that would make the Chelsea job seem a breeze.
But I think if Potter was offered the England job he would take it.
Especially when they absolutely know what they are signing up for when they come in.It’s a bit annoying that we seem to turn all our managers into misery’s !!
I’m guessing we must lose out on loads of targets as we don’t stretch the budget in any shape or form. But surely it can’t be that bad managing us.
I was just about to post the very same thing. That spell after Christmas that season was dire.
