If RDZ does stay I really hope he stops the constant whinging, it’s wearing and very different from the Roberto who arrived here

This.

Roberto will have been set straight, with no ambiguity at all, on exactly what the club's targets are for next season, and on what resources are going to be available to him, to try to achieve them.

If he stays, in full knowledge of that framework, then he can get his head down, get on with the job, and show the club a little respect and gratitude. I'll be delighted if he does.

If he's not satisfied with what he's told, then he can shut the door on his way out, and we'll crack on with a new manager who wants to be here.

Yep, agreed. He’s got one of the best jobs in world football and it’s about time he started showing he appreciates it rather than bringing down everyone’s mood around the place. I’m certain his mood and sound bites have contributed to a lack of confidence in the squad and downturn in our play and form.

I have a tiny gut feeling that Potter and his cronies might find their way back, wouldn’t even surprise me if contact has already been made 😳

Don’t shoot me down for this, just a tiny gut feeling that’s all.

“we’ve got super Graham Potter, he’s got a friend called Billy Reid”….

I would get somebody to look at that if I were you. Can't be too careful about feelings in tiny guts.

I think something is going on.

A little bird told me that a few weeks ago, Potter and Lallana met in a cafe in Hove and had a very long and possibly intense conversation.

My money is on Lallana being Potter’s No.2 when Graham secures his next role, probably this summer.

Would he want to come back here? I think so.

Will it happen? I’d be astonished.

I'd be very surprised too - but in all honesty we could do a lot worse. For all the vitriol aimed at Potter due to the manner of his parting, and the constant mentioning of the barren spell, the truth is that he had eventually got things very right indeed, and the team that he handed over to RDZ was absolutely buzzing, and already heading for the top ten again, where RDZ took it.
At the end of the day though it's so unlikely it ain't worth arguing over - so I won't be bothering!
I wholeheartedly agree… an entirely pointless debate… he’s not coming back, Gus is more likely to return and that’s as likely as Ritchie Blackmore headlining Glastonbury with a reformed Deep Purple featuring an exhumed Jon Lord.

So Potter might be trying to take another member of staff from Brighton!

People need to give themselves a wobble.
I don't care how amicable him leaving was, not a f***ing chance Potter is coming back. Bloom and Barber will be very aware the absolute gargantuan difference in belief RDZ has created here.

That is my worry too. f***ing shite if so, suits the happy clapper brigade
The unhappy brigade should start their own club if they dont like what Tony is doing. Or invest the sort of money in Albion they expect Tony to invest to keep Roberto happy. It wont be cheap but if you want something you get it you dont just moan about someone else not doing it. Poor manners and poor character

Any top club that brings him in at the end of this season is taking a very big gamble. He needs at least another season building this project IMO before he should be considered for a club that can be considered in Europe's elite. He's got a decent track record but hasn't built anything with longevity, and the clubs he is being linked with aren't going to want a stopgap for two seasons.

Maybe he could get away with it at Bayern once Leverkusen have been stripped of their good players and their manager/coaching staff come the end of the season and you've got the strongest team in the league by a mile, but at Barca, Liverpool, United etc, a few bad results and you're going to have fans from around the world foaming at the mouth to have you out on your arse, especially if you're following Klopp, who will no doubt go down with Shankly & Paisley et al as an all time great with their fans and will be a near impossible act to follow.

I don't think he seems overly happy here, personally, and have had that feeling for a while. Yeah we've had a lot of injuries but I think he was f***ed off that we didn't replace Mac & Caicedo sufficiently in the summer, then failed in the market again in January. I do understand and agree with that sentiment, but I don't think he has been very subtle in conveying it. Having said that, I think his tactical shortcomings have really been exposed on a number of occasions this season (Burnley, Sheff U, Everton, Fulham at home, Luton, Fulham, Roma away for example), and wouldn't be hugely surprised if his change in attitude (perceived by me) has affected our performances.

If he does get an approach and wants to go, so long as someone's paying up, fine. I'd love for him to come back refreshed next season, having got the players he wants and kept hold of our stars, ready to go all out to achieve something really special, but I can't see it happening. I won't begrudge him, won't scrub out his name from the signed shirt in my hallway or anything if he does go on to a bigger job in the summer, but I think it would be a mistake on his part if he did.

As for Potter, he can f*** right off.

Exactly. Lack of ambition? If lack of ambition means not spunking £100m on a player or not paying £150k a week and instead running the club sustainably whilst still investing huge sums then bring it on. If RDZ didn't understand this when he joined then he's not very bright.
