Nobody is “intolerantly demanding political correctness”.

They’d just like to get into a lift and not have some gross 60 yr old bloke thinks
it’s okay to tell about licking his wife’s fanny out that morning.

They’d like to go to work in a TV studio and not be groped or be subject to some fat old geezer taking his top off and parading around.

They tried going to the BBC and as usual the BBC did bugger all. So they went to the media.

Get a f***ing clue mate.
Read my f***ing post in its context mate! Here's a f***ing clue mate, it was a response to another post about embracing the social changes that are currently happening.

The point I was making was from another post saying that we need to embrace the social changes that are going on today, and this I cannot agree with. What is happening is in the push to change the old behaviours things have gone way too far, to the point of intolerance bordering on vilification from the so called "progressives" toward anyone who doesn't share their worldview.
What social changes do you have an issue with?

I must admit, sticking up vehemently for the rights of a grubby old man to reply to a female work colleague who has innocently said “I have something for you” with “IS IT A GIFT FOR MY PENIS?!” is one hell of a weird hill to die on.

So you have taken my post completely out of context, I agree with the changes to workplace behaviour, in the 70's and 80's they were disgraceful, and I don't have any issue with him being reprimanded in this case. the point I was making was from another post saying that we need to embrace the social changes that are going on today, and this I cannot agree with. I didn't take anything out of context. I made my comment about societal changes, with an eye on the thread title.

It is you who changed the context, by introducing Captain Cook and going off on a wild tangent.

Now you complain at 'the push to change the old behaviours'. You feel as though you are being pushed then. You don't want to change.

This would seem to contradict the rest of your post. Your bit about the 70s and 80s behaviour being disgraceful was just you bending with the wind, wasn't it?

They pick a team, get entrenched and can't climb down. Its quite common these days

The "inappropriate touching" allegations suggest his behaviour seems a bit pervy.

Not if that weird hill is somewhere you also like to spend time visiting...

Why ? it's a programme the public enjoy and have funded through their licences fees. What do you gain by not showing it?, watching it doesn't mean you support him, it just means that you like the programme and it's format. I loathe the bloke but I still watch the programme as I enjoy it and want to see young chefs showing off their skills or failures.
It seems extreme to pull a show based on one participants actions ( actions yet to be proven ). As you say, what about the viewers that enjoy the show, or the other presenters that work on it or the contestants ? A show shouldn't be cancelled because of one rotten apple in the barrel. Suspend him pending investigation and leave it at that. Those that might be 'triggered' ( an MPs word not mine ) by Wallace being on a pre-recorded show are hardly likely to watch it.

A footnote - I do not condone what he is alledged to have done at all.

Didn't know you were already 60.

Or is this another thing Gregg's done? (not read the whole thread)

Humiliating people is still common place?
I'm afraid it is. In a local IT company I worked for not very long ago I had a director give two of my team a humiliating dressing down in front of the whole office. When I pulled the director aside and told them it was unacceptable I was told "They deserved it". I was sacked a few weeks later.

Ah no. Where do I even slightly suggest that I am being pushed? By acknowledging there was a push? really is that the limit of your ability to think critically?
