As soon as I'd finished my previous list I immediately thought of Something/Anything, Pink Flag and Big Star's Radio City.

I'd also add David Ackle's American Gothic to my list. And Ieft out anything by Parliament/Funkadelic. Just how many great records were there?

Critics rave about Steely Dan. I've got mates who rave about Steely Dan but I've never understood the hype.

I’ve always thought Steely Dan was a bit like the Spain international team, circa 2010ish, technically brilliant, but a bit boring to watch/listen to. See also, Carlos Santana.

Any excuse to fill Page 1 with shitehouse music.

Was Greensleeves THE album of the 16th century?

Henry V111 what a one hit wonder but you’d be brave to have not voted it the song of the century whilst he was alive.

Anyway this is an albums thread so void nomination

First Motorhead album was 1977, the first punk/metal crossover album? saw them early 1978, loudest gig I have ever been to!

I saw them a couple of times in Worthing some 10 years later...

Two wildly different albums, both incredible, full of unique and stunning songs:
George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

Also with a ton of great tracks:
Blondie - Parallel Lines
Roxy Music - Roxy Music
David Bowie - Hunky Dory
Kraftwerk - Autobahn
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells

Working on the principle of:-

They never had a 'best' to be well past...

...The Macc Lads was a great night out.

!972 Foxtrot tour was at the Assembly Hall. The one I remember (because I couldn't get in!) was the 1971 Nursey Cryme tour (support band for Lindisfarne!)

I stand corrected, it seems Worthing used to have plenty of up and coming bands playing there back in the day. Not the old “going through the motions” shite that seems to have been the case since I moved nearby
