Why Not? It's not as if he can sell the ground from underneath us-although his record at Birmingham suggests anything but trying to destroy a football club.
DK has done fantastically well in keeping us alive but he has his limitations financially and we need an injection of cash right now to move forward. A huge injection of cash in fact. Keep him in the club, of course and deservedly so, but it might be a good time for someone else to carry on his good work.

The articles of the club stating one man cannot have complete control are easily overcome. He buys 35% His brother 35% and the Blooms or whoever keep theirs. the remaining 30%. No 1 man has control but a family does.

I think that is a very emotive statement - overall control doesn't always equal dictator just as dictator doesn't always equal overall control.
It would depend on how the money was invested (loans or shares) and on what terms. In principly I have no problem if it is share capital and no loans. I would object strongly if it were all loans at ridiculous terms (see Archer and Stanley).
Anything in between will be on its own merits.
As for Gold as a person, interestingly in his Tommy Boyd interview he was VERY complimentary of Dick Knight and the job he is 'doing'.
It seems others in football can see just how hard it has been and is still. I suspect that makes Gold very well placed to understand this club should he want to buy into it. Even the Argus referred to investing in the club rather than buying it.

I expect Birmingham fans will find that preferable to the state they were in before Gold took them over though, so somewhat better than being on the brink of bankruptcy in the lower reaches of tier 2 though wouldn't you say?
These foreigners eh, can you imagine if we had to put up with some of the foreign players that ply their trade in the Premiership as well, I can think of a worse future for Brighton.

Well, since neither you, I, nor the BCity fans know what the foreign businessman is going to do for their club, then it's all conjecture. Gold might have improved their fortunes more than another option (which is another conjecture, actually).
I am not saying we should send potential investors (like loaded multi-millionionaire businessmen) packing, but this one bloke's forays with Birmingham City don't automatically make me think we should be gagging for him or anyone else to simply take the keys off Dick Knight.

Okay, since this 'name-that's-been-thrown-in-the-hat' David Gold is so interested in the fortunes of football clubs, and we SHOULD be interested in keeping BHAFC from the singular whims and gamblings of any other businessmen - then Gold won't mind if he has a contract that irrevocably involves the required moneys from his end, profit SHARING for the club, it's employees, and of course the current Chairman.
He will have to buy his way in, in a way that remunerates Dick Knight (privilege earned by his owning the club, and as a thriving concern!), and an agreement that no funds are refundable, nor any profit guaranteed.
He will, being a football man, be prepared to invest heavily in the building of the stadium, and in the building of the club, before ANY profits will be placed back into the hands of the boardroom members.
Thus, none of this 'all in the hands of one man' business, no "thankyou very much and b'bye now" to Dick Knight and the people who saved this club, and no dealings that depend on the fortunes of any one person. If the club is seen to thrive, then the initial investment can be given back incrementally, and ultimately to ensure an interest in the profitable future of a new era in Brighton and Hove Albion, 'and all who sail in her'.

I personally think the attraction of the gold's is that they have been proved to be football fans. the problem with Archer, and now Bravatore at QPR is that they were never football fans, and therefore you had the view that they were in it to make something of it.
I find it very interesting that one of the things people have been banging on about for agers is investment in the club once Falmer is realised, now falmer is realised and someone appears ( although we do not know for sure) to want to invest, some people are bleating about it!
