I applaud all those taking care, respecting others and doing the right things. That said, if this pandemic has taught me one thing, it is that life is too short. If the game’s on, I’ll be there!

i still haven’t been since the 1st outbreaks.

i have a heart condition.
i have a business that i’m struggling to keep open. Me or the Mrs (who also works there) getting infected could leave us needed to close down for some while, and i’ve got 13 staff who we both feel responsible for.
i worry the club will cancel my seat as it’s not getting used.
i worry that if they did that i’ll loose touch permanently with my friends that sit around me.

irony is that I had just got to the stage of feeling things were improving enough to start going again ….

Right now life all seems pretty shite

Please please email Mr Barber about this.

It’s totally unacceptable that the club would cancel your ticket but I’m 99% sure that Mr Barber would write back and reassure you about the situation. If he doesn’t, post on here and we’ll all write him an email!!

I'll be going but I'm driving and will wear a mask on the concourse to minimal risk. Know a few folks that aren't going as worried about catching covid and messing up their Christmas plans.

A very personal view as I’ve just tested positive, if any of you are in doubt or worry about your health, don’t go.

We hadn’t socialised in the last 10 days, but we went on holiday, wearing masks at all times indoors/on flights, when not eating or drinking. Imho I almost certainly caught it on the flights or in a restaurant.

So, in otherwise very compliant environments, with 99% of people playing ball.

Contrast that to UK trains, Albion park n ride or Amex concourses. Spot the mask.

[I’m not a lockdowns/restrictions obsessive, far from it, but this has been an eye opener. Our household’s work and other plans all thrown up in the air].

Genuinely, take care.

Hopefully it'll just be mild for you.

Absolutely this. No problem with anyone not going but, for various reasons, life is really awful at the moment so I'm definitely going if it's on and will take all the usual precautions and will enjoy worrying about the match rather than life.

Not going because it's my daughter's carol concert at 5.30pm that day and it's being held outside, because Covid. She will need taking there and one of us will need to watch her while the other tends the puppy. Game on telly it is.

I would have gone otherwise, and I would have had a drink on the concourse. I went to Southampton and I went to my friend's 50th in a pub function room the week after (Friday just gone). LFT before and after both events and negative on both occasions.

I will test and wear a mask wherever and whenever asked as I don't want to pass Covid on to someone vulnerable, but being fully jabbed and having had Covid in 2020 with what was probably a large viral load, I have very little fear of getting anything more than 10 days of inconvenience and a fairly heavy cold-ish thing.

Closing concourses is an interesting thought. I'd prefer it to reduced crowd % but I do think it'll piss off the Albion's suppliers as tons of Harvey's and Piglets produce goes to waste while people drink in the pubs in town. I think concourse restrictions do need to match the wider social restrictions to avoid this happening. But that means slipping on a mask, people.

I'm planning on going and I'm pleased that I've bagged a space in the Bridge car park. This obviously allows me to avoid cramming on any public transport and also arriving reasonably close to kick-off. When inside I'll head straight to my seat.

I am concerned at the thought of getting Covid before Christmas but will take my chance.

The best scenario for me would be for the Brighton game to be postponed, thus allowing me to go and watch Bexhill v Bognor in their Sussex Senior Cup clash.

My grandfathers and great fathers were at the front in the first and second world wars. They knew being at the front was not risk free. They were at the fronts enduring the wind, rain and snow. Life isn’t risk free. So yes I could spread a virus by not wearing a mask but can someone catch the virus if they are wearing a mask . It comes down to accepting personal responsibility and accepting life isn’t risk free.

I wasn’t going to go but let’s way it up and the risks. You are still more likely to fall down the stairs than get COVID from holding the handrail. Most of you won’t hold the handrail. I had a meeting in the northwest cancelled tomorrow - still more risk of having an accident in the way there than getting COVID in the meeting. So do everything you can to reduce the risk of getting COVID - ensure your double jabbed (plus booster), drive there if you can, don’t enter stadium until late, wear a mask, use hand gel, go straight to seat, don’t drink so you don’t need toilet, wait for rush to go at end. At the end of the day it is a balance of risk vs reward, for me the reward is the emotional energy I get from being in crowds that really recharges me (lockdown is hard for extroverts) and hopefully 3 points

Yep. Me too.

I understand people not going - especially because no one wants two cancelled Christmases. I’m triple jabbed but if I catch it then so be it - and no one is telling me I can’t go

Yes you could catch it through a mask . You could also catch it if someone spread the germs on to a hard surface and you touched it and then touched your mouth so washing your hands is also important.

I won't be attending, not because I'm worried about Covid though. My son who I go with is off ski-ing and I've felt really rubbish for the last week - all the symptoms of Covid but thus far five negatives tests. Disappointed as I'll be missing the Brentford match as well.

How many of those tests were PCR? If you have symptoms, get properly tested. Lateral Flow is not the recommended test if you have symptoms.
Note this is a general message rather than specifically aimed at an individual.

I’ve still not been since before the Arsenal postponement, though I was getting close to going a couple of months ago before the rates went up again. At present, I’m not sure when I’ll next be using my season ticket.
