Pork pie land.
No one is advocating forcing sexual desires on an innocent person.

There is a world of difference between a consenting adult relationship between two adults who want to commit themselves to each other under the laws of the land and raping children, shame that you can't see it though.

I do agree. But just to test the theory, what should the age of consent be in future? I have not checked, but undertand something like 12 was an acceptable age in Victorian times. What if a say sexually mature 14 year old girl wanted a man? Where do you all stand on that?

The good old days,,,,,,,look at the state of the country these days. At least back in the 50's people had respect and were proud of their country.

I bet you miss this type of thing Kev

Mind you, most Lesbians aren't in their 20's. Most are middle aged women with short hair.

I get your concept, and thus, agreeing with Mack. (again)

Interesting debate about Lesbians. If they dislike the male form, or don't fancy men. Then how come an important part of their sex life's involves a strap on penis??? Or are the vast majority not really lesbians but bi sexual?..Just a thought.

I believe the law stopping Gay Marriage was only brought onto the statue book in 1971

You are taking this bill to some strange areas/topics, and I am not sure what Gay Marriage has to do with any pedophiles equal rights, to what exactly, I cannot see it or find it in the bill they are debating.

The point is, that the only reason for allowing it that keeps being given in equality. It is all getting a bit like Animal Farm, with different levels of the right to equality, depending upon your finanical position and likely voting pattern.

My personal view is that whilst she may be sexually mature, she is unlikely to be EMOTIONALLY mature at 14 to make a decision that is in her short or long term interests. I would therefore stick with the state's view that 16 is an appropriate age of consent.

However this is not the view taken elsewhere in the EU, as the age of consent is 13 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 15 in France and 17 in Cyprus.

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

Something about equality - what the bill is about

Some reference to Orwells novel - Animal Farm - not sure Stalinism perhaps

Something about money and voting - really lost on that one

So can we expect an EU ruling on it soon? So are Spanish girls more emotionally mature than British ones?

The point is that if enough pedos like Jimmy Saville make enough fuss in years to come, and there looks to be votes in lowering the age of consent, will some Government decide to lower it? I believe that it is the role of Government to protect society from itself, and things are getting to a point where some of these laws that are being passed need to be questioned.

I voted no @Biscuit. To me marriage is something than a man and a woman do. I guess must be really intolerant, but when I see two blokes kissing I don't think 'ohhh how sweet' but 'yeuch, that is horrible'. If that is offensive to any gays or straights reading this then I'm truly sorry, but its the way I am I'm afraid. Sorry lads.

So your objection to gay marriage is because you don't like to see blokes kissing. There's plenty of things I wouldn't like to see a man and a woman doing but I don't immediately think that straight marriage should be banned.
