Just heard another "devout Christian" on radio saying how disgusting it is as God says it isn't right. Do people realise how utterly moronic they sound falling back on that??

Latest Ipsos MORI Poll

Around three quarters (73%) of British adults think gay people should be allowed to get married to each other while a quarter (24%) do not want to allow gay marriage according to a new Ipsos MORI poll for Freedom to Marry.

Generally older people are more likely to be against gay marriage while young people are more in favour:

15% of 18-34s are opposed to gay marriage while 38% of 65+ do
82% of 18-34s are in favour, compared to 59% of those aged 65+

Conservative supporters are more likely than Labour or Liberal Democrats to say gay people should have civil partnerships only (25%, 13%, 13% respectively) and are less likely to support forcing religious organisations to conduct ceremonies (18% Conservatives, 26% Labour supporters, 37% Lib Dems)

However, allowing gay marriage and not forcing religious organisations to conduct ceremonies is the most popular option among Conservatives as it is for Labour and Liberal Democrat supporters (46%, 53%, 48% respectively).

The main reason against gay marriage seems to be from this book of magic which also approves segregation and slavery...

We don't have a theocracy!

It baffles me that people would assume god, an all knowing, all powerful being, would be a homophobe. Surely such a being is completely beyond our own perceptions of good and evil, right and wrong. If you don't agree with gay marriage then my only suggestion to you would be don't marry someone of the same sex as you. Either get with the times or crawl back into your hole and get out of the way of progress.

So can we expect an EU ruling on it soon? So are Spanish girls more emotionally mature than British ones?

The point is that if enough pedos like Jimmy Saville make enough fuss in years to come, and there looks to be votes in lowering the age of consent, will some Government decide to lower it? I believe that it is the role of Government to protect society from itself, and things are getting to a point where some of these laws that are being passed need to be questioned.

1: There is no evidence that the EU will impose any law on this issue.

2: There is no evidence of public opinion or political opportunism advocating a lowering of the age of consent in the UK.

Not forgetting that an all loving God would supposedly have an issue with the love between two men or two women. Baffling.

so why have we got the highest teenage pregnancy in Europe ???
Regards
DR

Because their opposite sex parents aren't bringing them up proper!?

Because as a society we are emotionally and sexually retarded (as evidenced on this thread) ?

Because we find sex such a taboo, and oh god, don't mention the horror of 2 men kissing!

what worries me is 73 per cent of people on here think it's normal for blokes to go around sticking their cocks up other blokes arse's

worrying times indeed

It's not that I think it's normal - it's that I couldn't care less where a bloke sticks his cock as long as the recipient is willing and mentally able to make that decision for themselves.

What a gay bloke does with his significant other is none of my business, nor is it any of yours. Two blokes kissing to me is just the same as an ugly bloke and an ugly bird kissing - not my cup of tea, I'd prefer not to see it, but I'm hardly going to tell them that what they're doing is WRONG in the privacy of their own home.

Stop sticking your nose into where people are sticking their cocks.

I feel this is yet another step away from helping those with a sexual identity crisis. The whole issue is about mental health. As I have travelled through this life I have met many who have chosen relationships with their own sex rather than continue the struggle with the opposite sex. Sort of like the book 'Men are from Mars , Women from Venus'. They suddenly decide there is more comfort in like minds/ habits. It is now easy to say you are gay and thats the reason their relationships with the opposite sex don't work out. Not so. It is more complex than that, but modern society has given this as its panacea. Perhaps one day we will wake up and help, rather than pick a laxative approach.

i don't really give a shit....if two men/women want to get married it doesn't impact on my faith whatsoever...there's gay people who attend my church and if they wanted to get married i'd happily attend

however (and due to me not giving a shit) i haven't actually done any research, but i really don't get what the difference is between what they already have and what they want to have....is this literally a debate over the language used?

I'm a little tired so excuse me if I've misinterpreted what you've said but am I to understand that you believe homosexuality is a mental illness?
