Confidence has a huge part to play! People seem to forget that we had a good start to the season, even had a bit of a run going as well, we had a couple of bad games and things changed very quickly. I know most people (if not all) won't agree but I do think the fans have to take some responsibilty for the way things are going of late. People started to question the team in SEPTEMBER, already slating Adams, criticising the players when our record stood at 5 wins, 4 draws and 2 loses.

Brilliant, it is the fans fault.

Thanks for that.

I have not got great links with the club - but what I do hear is that there were problems between senior players and Wilkins ( and not just the ones he was not playing) and it looked at times as if some of the younger ones had issues. Whilst it is early days with Adams his reputation is that players do like and respect the bloke.

Of course this is all in the nature of a club and team - but I think Elder's point is valid that the players do have more time for Adams than Wilkins.

Thank you! There were problems with Wilkins, with some younger ones as well as older players. They do have more time and respect for Adams.

My point is, yes those games were bad and yes they were disapointing, and of course people are entitled to moan but some of the comments made were ludicrous.

Some of the tactics and choices Adams has made haven't been good, but they're nowhere near as bad as what people make out. When people talk about players postioning, were people complaning about Virgo in midfield when he was getting goals at the beginning of the season? Have people thought that Adams, just like the rest of us thought maybe we were onto something with him there and slowly it becamse worse, is it not possible he was left there for a few remaining games because of the great start? Game after game it became aparant it no longer worked and he hasn't been put there since. When was the last time Virgo played in midfield? Adams is yet to know what is his best 11.

i believe virgo scored two against Barnet... hardly tough oposition is it!

So are they now disrespecting him, but not playing as he is instructing them, or are the instructions he gives them a load of crap?

Either way, this wonderful cosy player / manager relationship isn't achieving much, is it?

Bring in nicky forster as the coach/manager as he is the only one there who has the leadership that is needed at the club at the moment as d white and b booker, both have no idea of how to organize the team :clap2::clap2:

Problems ..... like what ??

And who cares, what exactly has any of this impacted positively on the football pitch this year, give me just one simple example !!

From set pieces. The fact he was playing in midfield conributed not one jot, to the fact he scored those goals. Its a bollocks argument, like all the rest.

Clutching at straws, to support the nonsensical decisions.

Ermm... If you have a look at the thread title and general purpose of this thread it's about the players being behind Adams and I added that he is more liked and respected than Wilkins, nothing to do with anything else other than the thread title.

exactly, saying that we played well at the start of the season is completely stupid. We beat barnet, league 2, crewe, worst club in the division and 10 man southend... wow!

The thing I dont understand is that the players didnt like Wilkins, yet come match day they performed and got results.

Now they respect the manager and like him, yet come matchday they are a bunch of clueless idiots and cannot get a result that is of any use to us

I said we had a good start to the season which we did, why are getting picky about the opposition we beat, that's still 6 points from our first 2 away games.

Threads evolve.

Anyway - the fact that we are currently one point from the drop zone, surely IS relevant to a discussion on whether the players 'respect' Adams. If they respect him, they'd do as he tells them. Asuming they ARE doing as he tells them, then what he 's being telling them is clearly not all that useful.

Look it is the fans fault, end of.
