I think that a decision like that will be made after we are safe this season and John Sullivan has been given the chance to show his worth or otherwise.

It is reputed that Kuipers is one of the highest wage earners so it is possible the club may decide to bring in a new No1 if cheaper and stick with Sullivan as cover. Is Kuipers out of contract in the summer? All ifs at the moment
I think that is the way the club is thinking at the moment. Off course it all depends whether Wilkins is kept as manager, but I think Kuipers fitness issues are what is going to see a new keeper this summer, and Mr Kuipers released.

I have never rated Kuipers as I think his general goalkeeping is not as good as that we have had, This would be borne out by the fact that every other manager we have had has used him as the back up keeper. Also the fact of when he went onto the transfer list at his own request no other club were prepared to pay money for him, some would have had him on a free but not pay a fee however small.

I once said to MA that Kuipers had done well with some of his saves that were very good. His answer was 'that is what we pay him for if he didnt stop those shots which were simple ones really he wouldnt still be here.' This I think sums up Kuipers he dives and saves shots that most other keepers would just pick up or catch.

In the 60s when we had the best goalkeepers in the world in England this was a criticiscm that was levelled at all of the continental keepers.

Other goalkeepers and football managers would agree with you as I do. To me He is just like John Crumplin - a crowd favourite but ultimately not a very good player.

Kuipers would have to agree reduced terms. He is by far one of the best shotstoppers outside the premiership, but not one of the best Gkers. If his handling and distribution were better he would have been sold a long time ago. Thats why Mcgoo liked Henderson so much, he felt he was "safer"...............i think the goalkeeper should focus on stopping the ball and then worry about whether it looks good or not.

We didn't need to have another keeper, because we had one who was perfectly good enough.

For me, Kerry has to go.

I reckon he will get another year, but even though I try to accept Mayo in the team due to his fantastic commitment, I can't, because he really isn't good enough.

He spent most of Saturday hoofing the ball into touch. I know he would run his legs off for the club, and tackles with everything he's got. The fact is, what he's got, just ain't enough.

I think OGH should stay (bet he doesn't though) as he's another that gives 100%, only with much better results than Mayo.

Santos is a waste of space.

Kuipers will probably stay, but we must start giving Sullivan his chance, or bring in someone else as cover.

Oatway - who knows, is he training yet??

I heard Hart has a clause in his contract that if he plays another 2 games for us he gets a new contract.

Guess thats why hes not making the team if its true.

If he plays 27 matches he gets a new contract?

Strange number. Think both Mayo and him had the same clause last season and they needed to play in half of the games.

Sometimes I actually cant believe what I read on here!!!!!

Since kuipers replaced That irish clown....He has looked fantastic and our defence actually talk now and have a decent understanding..his saves he has made since returning to the side have been superb and the guy would always be my number one.

Flinders has a good game at crewe and bpool and now everyone thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread and that makes kuipers an ordinary goalie..

Kuipers is king and must be returned asap!

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Kuipers has done well, but equally he has looked a bit shaky in some areas.

Flinders has done nothing to warrant being dropped, so why should one replace him? It doesn't exactly encourage future loan signings (which are crucial to a club like us) if we are not going to play them!

In my opinion, Flinders should keep the shirt and Michel should wait until either Flinders leaves or he warrants a starting ahead of him.

Kuipers has to go. The fact that Flinders was preferred to him on Saturday says it all. Good shot stopper, not the best outside the prem:ohmy: crap distribution which is never going to improve and on allegedly the highest wage spells thank you for your service, but see you or accept being no2 on reduced terms. Wonder how loyal he'll be then. If we're not aiming for the play offs and once we're safe from rele, give Sullivan or Martin a chance. Neither looked out of place in Le Havre year before last.

They'd want Kuipers playing if we had Petr Cech here on loan.

So true :lolol:

The truth is, Palace fans (and I wasn't at Blackpool or Crewe so can't say I've witnessed his performances) that even if Flinders kept a clean sheet between now and next Christmas, there are some people here who will never accept him.

Not because of his Palace connections. But because he commits the cardinal error of NOT being Michel Kuipers.

In fifty years time, the followers of the Cult of Kuipers, assuming they're still alive, will be sighing nostalgically at the performances of whoever our number one is by then, and saying "well it's not a bad run, twenty eight clean sheets in a row, but you know what? Michel Kuipers would have him for breakfast".

The Albion: destined to be forever haunted by the Ghost of Goalkeepers Past.

I'd really like Kuipers to be released actually. Would stop post like the one above.

So you have a pair of Henderclowns gloves, big f***ing deal. Get over it, Kuipers is king and here to stay.

Listen to yourselves!

If you'd care to extract your face from between Michel Kuipers golden butt-cheeks for just a couple of seconds, you'll see that not everyone on this thread is a fan of Henderson, they just happen to see through the myth that Kuipers is the World's Greatest GoalkeeperTM and recognise him for what he is: a very popular bloke, quite the cult hero, but a fairly average keeper at this level.

Henderson was fairly crap, I'm not getting into that, but nor am I going to fall for the Kuipers-best-thing-since-sliced-bread myth.
