Flinders looks good, very good.

Any (or at least most :lolol: keepers can stop a shot) but this kid can actually catch a ball.
He'll come for crosses and get there.
I'd say he has massive potential.

Made a superb save late on at Blackpool, which shows he can concentrate for 90 minutes too.

Doubt he'll wear the blue and white for very long, but if he does, I certainly won't be complaining

To be honest Flinders is in a no win situation with some Brighton fans, as he is a Palace player if he plays well there is begrudging praise, but if he makes a mistake he is climbed on and slated. I genuinely think he will be Palace's first choice 'keeper next season as Taylor wants rid of Kiraly, so this experience will do him and Palace the world of good.

I don't think that's at all fair. I have heard nobody slating him. People said he looked a bit didgy at Gillingham, which he did.

Then he has played really well at Crewe and at Blackpool, and he has been rightly praised. Nothing grudging about it. Good luck to the lad.

And don't fret Mr Kraay some Palace fans still hate you
I find it amusing that Palace fans point blankly refuse to consider the clowns as a proper rival. :D

But it's understandable - how can anyone hate the clowns?

Thanks to Brighton we may end up with a promotion winning goalkeeper.

To be honest Simster, the hatred has been on the main coming one way, but after the game a couple of years back at the Valley a lot more dislike them than before.

Oh so now people dont like kuipers.....Boring!

He's the best shot stopper weve had at the club in 10 years!

I have never rated Kuipers as I think his general goalkeeping is not as good as that we have had, This would be borne out by the fact that every other manager we have had has used him as the back up keeper. Also the fact of when he went onto the transfer list at his own request no other club were prepared to pay money for him, some would have had him on a free but not pay a fee however small.

I once said to MA that Kuipers had done well with some of his saves that were very good. His answer was 'that is what we pay him for if he didnt stop those shots which were simple ones really he wouldnt still be here.' This I think sums up Kuipers he dives and saves shots that most other keepers would just pick up or catch.

In the 60s when we had the best goalkeepers in the world in England this was a criticiscm that was levelled at all of the continental keepers.

I am not saying all Brighton fans Hans, but you have to admit there are some on NSC that would stick the boot in to him just for the fact he is our player

We've played in your division, for what, two out of the last 20 odd seasons and our gates in that time have been far smaller than yours (although there are mitigating circumstances obviously). To me, the hatred between Palace and Brighton seems a bit manufactured to all but anyone over the age of 30, maybe even 40 really.

I'm 35 and remember the days of the mid '80s and before, but was too young to remember the halcyon days of the rivallry in the late '70s - so to be honest I struggle to intensely dislike your lot. That said, it was ace fantastic to win at your place, and there's no denying the intensity of the goal celebration as McShane planted his header into the onion bag to give us that win.

Apart from a few [tongue in cheek?] comments before he had actually played, I've not seen that at all. Some people will always want Kuipers in, but that's nothing to do with Flinders being one of yours. They'd want Kuipers playing if we had Petr Cech here on loan.

Mate i totally agree, and you are completely right about the age factor it is an important fact.

I am unfortuantely in the over 35 category and i remember full well the sheer animosity and hatred a Palace-Brighton game generated, it was genuinely scary stuff going to these games back then.

However as we have played Brighton far less over these past 20 odd years the animosity has somewhat dimmed albeit it is still simmering under the surface. The younger generation Palace fans just do not get the Brighton rivalry, they just don't understand that a team we have played 4 times in two decades should be hated rivals.

Palace fans are like that with Dougie Freedman, love the bloke but he isn't what he was but he is a hero to a lot of our fans.

He has played an awful lot of games for a number 2 in the 7 years he has been at the club....
