Kuipers did not cover himself in glory last season, however there was no point in having him here when we had Henderson and Chaigenau as we hardly seem to play reserve games as it is and so he would never have got games.

However Kuipers did in the summer apologise for his actions and seems to have knuckled down and tried to fit for the shirt.

Very true, but I expect if he was to go back to being number 2 he would throw his toys out again. Out of curiosity do you think he will get a new contract? I get the feeling as he is one of the top earners he might be on his way. I would prefer to keep him though.

Have you seen him create something from nothing this season? Don't get me wrong i love the bloke but football doesn't stand still and although he has been a great player for us, its time for fresh blood.
Maybe not, but I reckon he has got a role to play within our squad next season if we stay down. :jester: He is best played behind the front 2 IMO

. I expect us to sign a decent keeper in the summer as cover/competition.

I think that a decision like that will be made after we are safe this season and John Sullivan has been given the chance to show his worth or otherwise.

It is reputed that Kuipers is one of the highest wage earners so it is possible the club may decide to bring in a new No1 if cheaper and stick with Sullivan as cover. Is Kuipers out of contract in the summer? All ifs at the moment

I would guess he will be retained, at this level I think he is good enough.

There are tougher decisions to make on the contracts than the keepers.

I would like Flinders to stay but it really doesn't make too much sense as he isn't going to be with for too long. We can't affor dhim. Maybe another month to get us mathematically safe. Then play Sullivan.

Kuipers is OK for this division but he is a high wage earner, gets injured a lot and is not getting any younger. I don't think he'll get a new contract.

We need to get rid of a bit of dead wood this season so it will be interesting to see what decisions are made, hopefully DW is given a contract soon so we can start making those decisions now as appossed to 3 months time. We cant afford to lose players like Bertain and Revell.

ALBERT JARRETT
WAYNE GRAY
CAROLE
ZAMORA
BENJAMIN
JUNIOR LEWIS
YEDELL

It not all my fault we can't hold onto to quality players :jester:

Thats not alot then really, I suppose we have got rid of Molango and Carpenter.

Santos is another one who's contract is expiring.

I would get rid of Santos, Mayo, Oatway, Loft and possibly Kuipers if we could get a decent replacement.

Of the senior players Kuipers, Hart, Mayo, Oatway and Butters are all out of contract.

Doug 'Gully' Loft is also out of contract.

There are a few of the youngsters as well, Paul Hinshlewood, Rents, Fogden, Martin and a couple of others.

Except for the youngsters only Butters definately deserves a new contract..... Mayo might get a short-term. The others will be gone.

I'd be sad to see Hart go but it does look like he ain't figuring in Deano's plans. IF Kuipers goes then we ought to sell him to make some cash.

Butters and Mayo to be offered a new contract though.

No one wants to buy him though, he spent most of last season on the transfer list and no one wanted him.

No way we'd get a fee for Kuipers. That's why he didn't go before.
