My seat is in East lower and I’m mildly asthmatic but still enjoy the display. Do think it’s ironic that this season there’s harsher penalties for fans bringing in pyro and the club are doing a display that creates way more smoke than the average pyro.

One man's irony is another man's rank hypocrisy.

But like you I enjoy the display, but I also enjoy crowd pyros too.

I was just a bit gutted as the fog hung around so long it spoiled by enjoyment of the Premier League advert straight after the crowd has been hyped up.

Like I said after the Newcastle game there's nothing wrong with it unless you're about to bring in a policy that bans people for life for letting off pyro - then it's massive hypocrisy.

Look quite good but it wasnt just kids choking for 5 to 10 mins at the start of the match. 10.mins before the smog cleared. I come to watch football match not gunpowder. Time to stop it or at least limit it. Do we need that much? A friend in lower east is asmathic and wasnt happy at all.

If you're being serious I agree completely. If we are going to carp about supporters letting off pyros for reasons of breathing effects then the same should apply to club pyros. I am in west upper and not asthmatic but I started coughing while singing when the smoke arrived.

I guess the club must have thought long and hard about the introduction of fireworks, including a full elfin safety impact risk assessment etc etc. Not the kind of thing you just, er, introduce on a whim

:laugh::lolol::cheers:

You are on fire this morning.

I hope you're not making too much smoke ???

The clubs ban fans, (rightly), for letting off fireworks and flares, but are quite happy to do it themselves. No thank you, cough cough, they aren't for me.

Agree H.
I’m in the WSU and missed the fireworks before the Newcastle match as I was a couple of minutes late, coming up the steps I thought someone had thrown a pyro because of the smell.
Yesterday I got to my seat early, I did think the fireworks gave off far too much smoke that seemed to drift into the WSU, my son was slightly late to his seat yesterday and asked me if there had been a pyro thrown.

What's wrong with a light show?

I have to say I much preferred the days when fans didn’t need pre match entertainment. The atmosphere was better and more intimidating when the fans could bounce off each other without artificial encouragement. Now we get fans zone and such shit being ramped up even more by fireworks and light shows. It’s bollocks to this old man, I have never wanted to be an American

Not gonna moan about fireworks. Fanzone however is now beyond naff that it almost decreases atmosphere. I’d love to see that revamped/replaced.

Agree, it’s cringeworthy and need to get rid of hey Jude and that other shite “I love this city” (forget the artist)

What’s wrong with right here, right now? Get this on after the Albion montage (which is the only decent thing about it)

They are a complete no from me. Look naff, waste of money, and smoke hangs around. I live in Lewes and love fireworks but these are rubbish.

The amount of smoke seems out of proportion to the effects. If I was in charge I'd want to try some different makes/ types and evaluate their impact. I do quite like the flame thrower thingies at rugby (but do worry about needless carbon emissions).

I don't like it, irritated my throat and stopped me singing at the start of the match, an atmosphere spoiler for me. Has anyone risked a ten page response telling you why you are wrong, and your throat cannot possibly be irritated by the smoke?

Jesus, there’s always someone who has to moan. Stay home if it upsets you. Personally I don’t like them because I hate the Americanising of British sports, I just want to watch a match.
I suppose we have to appeal to an upcoming generation. Football alone isn’t enough for the moronic iPhone children being dragged up these days. They need whizz bangery to hold the attention of their moribund brains.
But you know, who gives a ****.
