I'm East Upper and those saying you couldn';t see anything for ten mins are exaggerating. It was 2-3 mins as the players came out. It was certainly clear enough by kick off to watch the game. A bit more wind in the months to come will help.

I think they look good and therefore I'm in the team "keep them", but I do appreciate some of the concerns on here. My son, when he was little hated fireworks. I remember when we had the firework man at Withdean and we were 3-0 up hoping we didn't score again as each time upset him so much! He is over that now though. I can imagine a few kids in the family section being a bit shocked by it though.

Perhaps they could take it in turns to set them off in front of each stand, and therefore maintain it but lessen the perceived burden on those that don't like it to once every four matches?

Look quite good but it wasnt just kids choking for 5 to 10 mins at the start of the match. 10.mins before the smog cleared. I come to watch football match not gunpowder. Time to stop it or at least limit it. Do we need that much? A friend in lower east is asmathic and wasnt happy at all.

V Leicester we are going to have 1000 catherine wheels on one side of the ground and 1000 jos sticks on the other - bring it on

Love fireworks at the right place and time ....... However they are rubbish during daylight.

Complete waste of money in my opinion !!

The best fireworks I ever witnessed were in the city square in Valencia, launched at 1pm in daylight. These were more like mortar bombs which were all about the BANG and smoke rather than pretty colours, and we were rained on by pieces of pottery from their cases after the explosions. The fuddy-duddies on here would be go apoplectic...

The next morning I looked in the mirror and had a number of blue powder deposits on my bald patch, and I was in the North!

Isn't it double standards that flares are banned from supporters, but the club can choke us customers with them ??

So the grumpy old sods got their way, no fireworks today to wake them from their pre-match nap...
