The Scot, 71, has won 38 trophies since taking over from Ron Atkinson on 6 November 1986, including this season's Premier League title.
His haul includes 13 titles, two Champions League crowns, five FA Cups and five League Cups.
Yeah, but what does he do?

Obviously it's Appleton to Chelsea for two weeks, then to Man Utd (sacked,10 days).

Then it's Moyes to United,Martinez to Everton,Jacket to Wigan,Appleton to Millwall (5 days),Mourinho to Chelsea,Benitez to Real Madrid,Saunders to Millwall, Appleton to Wolves (15 year contract) and Gus to the Albion.

This is all 1/3 at most good bookies.

Hoorah! Given the resources at this disposal, a slightly above average performance over the years :)

I expect he will continue to tell the FA/UEFA/FIFA/Premier League what to do from the comfort of his living room.

There is a real chance over the summer that the top 4 clubs will all be looking for new managers, Utd, Citeh and Chelsea, and maybe even Arsenal?

This could have repercussions for us in terms of clubs wanting Gus, not for those jobs, but for where those clubs get their next manager from.

I still dont think that any big club would go for gus yet, for that to happen he would first need to manage in the prem for a year or two IMHO.

Odds from Paddy Power...

Schteve McClaren...

Of the outsiders I quite fancy Conte

Gus is not stupid so let us hope that he takes note of Taggart's comment about being grateful to ManU for giving him time to build a club, not just a team.

Tony Bloom is giving Gus an opportunity to build something great here before he eventually moves up to the next level.

The only thing that has never changed in football in my lifetime is sir alex Ferguson. Thinking about that it all feels a bit wierd.

Anyway, i'm going for Ladrup to Man Utd and worryingly Gus Poyet (or hopefully Martinez) to Swansea.

Is Jupp Heynckes retiring? I know his age is against him, but WHAT a manager.

I like KLOPP at 14's there.

Heynckes rumoured to be taking over from Jogi Löw if/when he goes (according to Raphael Honigstein). He went on to say that Löw would go to Arsenal with Wenger heading to PSG (so maybe it's all a bit fanciful!)

Like or him or not, Ferguson has simply been the best club manager there has been in the last three decades. He has completely out managed his rivals and I very much doubt whether Utd would have been as successful without him. The last two or three titles he has won have been with fairly mediocre teams, but at least they remained a team throughout, unlike the lightweights at Arsenal, and prima-donna's at Chelsea and City.

A divisive and at times petulant and unlikeable personality, but one hell of a manager. United will now slip back into the pack for the next few seasons. The toughest act to follow I would imagine.
