Everton is a massive step up from us right now. We would have to be seriously successful in tr prem for a number of years before we can be considered anything near their level.

I thought they were skint. By the time they paid us off try would have nothing left. Bigger than us yes but why leave your own work to muddle along with someone else's

Thought I heard somewhere on the radio that it is a hip operation.

As for someone suggesting this shouldn't be on our site, Man Utd could well be one of our league opponents next year as well as the well know fact this is not a forum just about Brighton!

If the Whore bites yer Bum!

 I think we ought to sign Suarez and Zaha! (Somebody said don't post when I am drunk.)

PS: I have just chopped up squares of Danish Blue and put it in the curry.

PS 2: Capello, I would have thought !!!??? He is getting on a bit, but if Fergie can't hack it no more ???

Per Wikipedia: "Reportedly on the verge of being dismissed, victory over Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup Final replay (after a 3–3 draw) saved Ferguson's career."

To think Palace was ever that good, or ManU ever that bad....

What saved him was an away win at Forest I believe in that year they won the FA Cup

Hmmm. The fact that the club are not even returning journalists' calls to say "no comment" is very interesting. Now that they're a (partially) listed company on NYSE they have an obligation to announce material developments to their shareholders and an obligation to comment on rumours if they are significant. If rumours persist this morning I would expect the club to be forced by their broker to announce or deny his imminent retirement soon, probably today. If they are really intending to announce his retirement on Sunday, I suspect they'll be bounced into doing it much sooner; if there's no truth in the rumour they should issue a denial.

If he does go, then my call would be:

Jose to Man U (just over returning to Chelski), if the Everton job does come up (which seems likely) then Gus would be a strong candidate irrespective of whether we go up or not since if we do, we'd be much more likely to come straight back down than would Everton.
