Just wondering if you were going to be there contributing to the atmosphere or behind a keyboard slagging off NSC users?
Pot, kettle, black?

Bugger. Now I'm at it

Down with everything!

What difference does it make whether I'm there or not?

NSC does have a lot of miserable old negative farts. A LOT - who seem to have no appreciation for where we are, or where we came from. It's a depressing website for Albion fans, at times.

Back in the day, we would have been absolutely buzzing to draw Chelsea at home. These days, some of our fans have no interest in beautiful football moments - they'd rather see us steamroll lesser lower division clubs in easy, forgettable wins.

No. We are Brighton and Hove Albion. We want to win the cup deservedly, not by lucking our way to the final with easy draws. Chelsea at home is potentially a classic FA Cup tie for us, it's a great draw, and I can't wait.

If they end up in Peacehaven, they've probably taken a wrong turn.

I’ve only just got over the trauma of Peacehaven’s one nil defeat by Canvey Island and that was about eight years ago. It was all “apples n pears” “pie n liquor” and “I was at Violets funeral”
I did win forty quid on the golden goal though (53 mins)

Obviously back in the day when we were not in the PL fans would be happy to be drawn against a big PL club…..we are also playing them the following week at home and have played them many times now.

It’s not a beautiful moment drawing Chelsea at home

You won't be saying that if/when we beat them...

Chelsea have become our rivals. You lot are just scared of being beat by them.

We are Brighton and Hove Albion. Don't fear them - get behind the team and let's beat them - it could be an FA Cup classic.

Cup’s about playing at different grounds for me, plus teams in those leagues I mentioned should be winnable.
Fair enough, the FA Cup offers that when no other comp does. I'd like to think we have a small shot at winning it though, so home games therefore make that more likely so I'd be happy if we had no further away games!

Lower Div teams at home would be ideal 🙂

Its not a bad draw, we're at home . . .it's down to us to turn the wick up and create the right atmosphere.

I've emailed Barbs already and cancelled my prawn sandwich.

Why ? Would happily face them in the final. Not R4
Exactly.
I never understand this "logic" that 'ooh well, we'll have to beat them at some stage anyway, so its better to get them now'.

Absolute BOBBINS. As an England fan, I'd rather face Brazil in the R16 rather than the SF or Final ? Oh yes, lets get knocked out nice and EARLY, so we can miss out on having any kind of journey, with memorable ties deep into the tournament.

I mean christ.

Chelsea is a tough opponent however you want to look at it - it would be perfectly natural for nearly every football fan of any Club watching the draw, to hope they will get one of the ‘easy ones’.

NSCers are no different and certainly NOT ‘miserable ole farts‘ or ’depressed defeatists’ for feeling like that (imho!)

Guess you weren’t at the Grimsby game then - fans on both sides not only appreciated the football but the fans too. The Grimsby fans piling on to the Palace pier enjoying their day out in Brighton, left an indelible mark in my footballing memory as did them staying til the end still singing despite being 5-0 down!

Well that’s all very noble but at the end of the day, it is the 4th round of a knockout competition with silver at the end of the rainbow - l don’t think we should glorify the ‘beautiful game’ to the extent we lose sight of what the objectives are here - we are not on the Yellow Brick Road seeking encouragement from the Good Witch of the North and South but on the road to Wembley - l want us to get as far along it as we can. If that means not wanting to face the toughest teams before the finals stages, then so be it.

It’ll be a good game, Hurzeler will go strong like he did against Norwich, we’re at home, we might just win!

making the draw for the next whilst a match is still being played in the current round (and planned to be played then) is hugely disrespectful. I cannot recall that ever happening before.
It didn't stop the draw being made when games ended in a draw and there had to be a replay , not sure what the difference is?
