You won't be saying that if/when we beat them...

Chelsea have become our rivals. You lot are just scared of being beat by them.

We are Brighton and Hove Albion. Don't fear them - get behind the team and let's beat them - it could be an FA Cup classic.
No. Chelsea have not in any way become our "rivals", and their fans would be laughing up their sleeves at the very suggestion of it.

We all despise them that little bit more after the constant RAIDS they have made on BHA. But to conflate this into a rivalry with them is ridiculous. For it to be a rivalry, BOTH sets of fans have to buy into it. Do you honestly think Chelsea give a single tiny shit about BHA ? Who do you think they'd rather stuff out of sight, Spurs or BHA ?

You make us sound like the Muff, desperately trying to sound relevant to Portsmouth or Southampton just so they can delude themselves that anyone actually gives a toss about them. Yes, Chelsea are filth who nobody likes. But that don't make it a rivalry.

Exactly.
I never understand this "logic" that 'ooh well, we'll have to beat them at some stage anyway, so its better to get them now'.

Absolute BOBBINS. As an England fan, I'd rather face Brazil in the R16 rather than the SF or Final ? Oh yes, lets get knocked out nice and EARLY, so we can miss out on having any kind of journey, with memorable ties deep into the tournament.

I mean christ.
And that's the difference, You think they'll beat us while I think we'll win, and create momentum for a great cup run. If people are assuming a defeat and dreading it, that explains the grumpiness about the draw.

What difference does it make whether I'm there or not?

NSC does have a lot of miserable old negative farts. A LOT - who seem to have no appreciation for where we are, or where we came from. It's a depressing website for Albion fans, at times.

Back in the day, we would have been absolutely buzzing to draw Chelsea at home. These days, some of our fans have no interest in beautiful football moments - they'd rather see us steamroll lesser lower division clubs in easy, forgettable wins.

No. We are Brighton and Hove Albion. We want to win the cup deservedly, not by lucking our way to the final with easy draws. Chelsea at home is potentially a classic FA Cup tie for us, it's a great draw, and I can't wait.
Not as classic as Sudbury Town away. That was some tie.

I'm not assuming defeat or dreading it. But its a simple fact that we could have got a far easier draw and a better chance of progressing.

Equally, we could turn them over and go out to Cardiff in the next round. On the whole, I'd just rather we didn't get drawn against someone who we already play twice a season at this stage (and now twice in the same week). Its a crap draw.

Six ties were televised last year, assume it will be the same this year.

FRIDAY 26 JANUARY 2024
Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City at 8pm on ITV1, UTV, STV and ITVX

SATURDAY 27 JANUARY 2024
Ipswich Town v Maidstone United at 12.30pm on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport
Fulham v Newcastle United at 7pm on ITV4 and ITVX

SUNDAY 28 JANUARY 2024
West Bromwich Albion v Brentford or Wolverhampton Wanderers at 11.45am on ITV1, UTV, STV and ITVX
Liverpool v Norwich City or Bristol Rovers at 2.30pm on ITV1, UTV, STV and ITVX
Newport County or Eastleigh v Manchester United at 4.30pm on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport

I'd struggle to pick only six - there are quite a few ties which either standout or are the kind of game that TV companies who don't get to show live Premier League football like...

Manchester United v Leicester City
Leeds United v Millwall or Dagenham and Redbridge
Brighton & Hove Albion v Chelsea

Preston North End or Charlton Athletic v Wycombe Wanderers
Exeter City v Nottingham Forest
Coventry City v Ipswich Town
Blackburn Rovers v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Mansfield Town or Wigan Athletic v Fulham
Birmingham City v Newcastle United
Plymouth Argyle v Liverpool

Everton v Bournemouth
Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur
Southampton v Burnley
Leyton Orient or Derby County v Manchester City
Doncaster Rovers v Crystal Palace

Stoke City v Cardiff City
I doubt (and would hope) that the FA don't wait until after the Champions League League Phase is over to announce the schedule as that would be after the 29th Jan.

With Man City in the Champions League play offs, and potentially Villa as well, that would rule both of them out of playing on the Sun unless they played on the Wed of the week following in the Champions League Play Offs.

I'd suspect Blues and Villa can't play at home on the same day, so I reckon Blues v Newcastle on the Sunday at some point is a given. Same with Exeter and Plymouth I'd hazard a guess, so can probably expect those games to be on alternate days.

I'd take a guess at the following:

Fri: Orient or Derby v Man City

Sat early kick off: Villa v Spurs

Sat late kick off: Plymouth v Liverpool

Sun midday: Blues v Newcastle

Sun 2pm/2:30: One of Donny v Palace or Exeter v Forest

Sun 4pm/4:30: One of Albion v Chelsea or Man Utd v Leicester

Mon: One of Donny v Palace or Exeter v Forest

My son loves the draw, he’s planning to bring loads of his mates, none of them Chelsea I should add! 🤣 I would have preferred an opponent we don’t play so often. Call me the United Nations but surely both opinions are fine and the People’s Front of Judea bickering ain’t really necessary

We at the Judean People’s Front take issue with not being a named party in this “bickering”
