There’s a lot of defeatism here about being drawn against Chelsea. It’s a tough one for sure but they’ve just been beaten by Ipswich and Fulham, and drew against Palace and Everton. Yes, they had a good run earlier in the season when they won 5 in a row or something but they’ve gone off the boil. At worst, I’d call it an evenly matched contest. And we should have Welbeck and March back in the starting XI by then.

it’s a cliché but if we’re going to do well in the cup we need to beat some strong sides. I’d not get the same pleasure getting deep in the competition by being constantly drawn against lower-league sides.

And I bet you anything that most Chelsea fans are moaning like hell about being drawn away at Brighton.
It’s not defeatism, it would just be better to have an easier tie

God I hate NSC sometimes.

Full of negative bastards.

We've got a winnable home tie that should be a great occasion. That's what football's about right?

You'd all prefer us to limp through to the latter stages just by playing weaker opposition? What a sad cup run that would be.

Let's BEAT Chelsea and win the FA Cup on merit. It' should be a great fixture and I'm confident of a win.
Are you going?

Only under your previous user that you made Bozza delete you said you weren’t going to games any more.

Amazing how much contrarianism there is over the draw, what is so controversial about wishing for the easiest opponent possible, even allowing for our difficulties against ‘weak’ teams.

Plus as a match going fan I’d much rather watch us play a non PL side we don’t face twice a season as it is.

You're a bit weird, aren't you. What a strange thing to recall.

What difference does it make whether I'm going or not?

FWIW, I'm more likely to make cup games than league games these days.

FWIW if we had to face a top five side in the cup right now, Chelsea might be the least terrible draw. They have a bona fide B team they field in all non PL games - even difficult ones like Newcastle away in the Carabao Cup - and Palmer is very much not part of it. Yes, he was in the match day squads for Newcastle in the Carabao Cup and Morecambe in the FA Cup but didn’t come off the bench in either - understandable in the latter case - so a win here is not out of the question. Liverpool and City also have B teams but theirs are stronger IMO.

Still annoyed obviously :annoyed:

Probably not that odd as I can remember that as well. You made quite a fuss and therefore that occasion is easier to recall.

Just wondering if you were going to be there contributing to the atmosphere or behind a keyboard slagging off NSC users?
