No. I'm not suggesting that at all. I'm suggesting play the Gus way, when you have players capable of it. Until then, play to the strenghts of what you have. If you have winger capable of flying past defenders like they are not there, play the players in the postions so they can fly past full backs like they are not there. After a player like LuaLua has team up with Vicente and completely raped Derbys defense, dont then change the way of playing and leave him out of the side for the next few games.

Check the stats, I'm sure Acker will be along to yay or nay them, but when winger have played as wingers, full back usually get early yellow cards. Full backs in this division cannot live with our wingers, so why do we never play with two of them, when you have so many class wingers in your squad? Why keep playing Ashley Barnes, in this f***ing stupid lop sided defensive winger role? (not a dig at Barnes, but the system) It's as if 4-4-2 and two wingers is too common and dirty a system for Gus to play, but he's built the perfect squad for it.

Sell Noone for £2mill if your not going to play him. Are we that rich to keep a £2 mllion player as 4/5th choice player? Buckley, LuaLua, Vicente, Barnes all seem to have more change of playing then Noone, so why bother keeping him?

He plays one winger, so why have 4 more than capable ones in the squad?

Fine if we had the players elsewhere, but we have about 8 central midfielders, and it still seems our weakess position.

We have 4/5 excellent wingers yet he plays one!!

Your point exactly?

Poyet has taken us to the brink of The Premiership playing the exact same way you're criticising him for? Congratulations.

Coppell's team for the second half of the championship season was the best team of the last twenty years and he didn't have a pot to piss in, or a window to throw it out of.

Both played at Forest five days later, and they were toilet.

Just shaking my head at this.

Seriously Burnsey, you need to sit down and have a word with yourself.

Can you just state, for the record, exactly where you think this club has a right to be finishing this season ? I mean christ up a stick, I thought West Ham fans were presumptuous about their prospects this season in the Championship, but this takes the f***ing biscuit.

That's the point though. The exact same way. Gus himself says Gary Dicker is the only one that fully understands the system. My point is don't f***ing play the system if the players dont understand it then. And of late, its clear they don't. Play against lesser teams in league one, and it'll work. most of the time. Play against better opposition, and you'll be found out over and over again, and we have.
Poyet has had the cash and spent the cash on a squad capable of getting promoted. Not saying we should be above Reading, but we should be closer than we are with the squad he has. But all the time you play a way, and this is from Poyet himself, that they don't understand, then you will underachive. And we are.

And he took us down....

That is a fact...It's also a fact he took over when we had 4 points from twelve games was it. Spent the next 10 games sorting things out and we went down on the last game of the season. What Coppell nearly pulled off, with what he had at his disposal was nothing sort of a miracle.

I still don't know how you conclude we have the cash or players for promotion. Look at the wage bills, your argument does not stack up.

Enjoyed the OP - tongue in cheek, but more than a grain of truth, too. Sometimes I think Gus still doesn't know what his best team (or at least his best midfield) is, and some of his decisions seem a bit strange - take yesterday; finally starting CMS and Vokes together, we had 19 shots on goal (9 on target) - with stats like that we'd have slaughtered the opposition in a lot of matches we've drawn or won / lost one-nil........but then why play the two of them up front and then go narrow, with no wingers?

Having said that, I'll be very happy for Gus to go on making 'mistakes' next season!

No he didn't we were clear of the drop zone with over a month to go, and we still went down. He was backed by the board too, as the signings of Blackwell, Rodger, Beasant et al will testify.

At first, I thought this was a Burns wind up special, but, on reflection, certain parts of this are unfortunately, nearer the mark than a lot realise. ( Imo, of course, which is worth jackshit)

Okay for the record the day we got promoted, I'd have snatched your hand of for 20th.

After the players Poyet has signed, and has at his disposable, I'd expect us to be around West Ham chasing the top two. The squad is good enough. The team and tatics are woefully short. Poyet like all managers do has his favourites. He refuses to change or adpat to his squad. HIS squad. Him walking off like a spoilt little child yesterday was the straw that broke the camels baack for me. No one in the squad should walk off at the end like he did. Your manager definately shouldn't abannon HIS players like Poyet did.

Eddie Howe basically played Poyet at his own game yesterday, and beat him, and Poyets ego couldn't handle it.

We had one shot on target, Burnsey and I both agree on that!

yes we no all that, but weve got agreat stadium now and smashed our record transfers. , all are big signings are never in the team at the same time dont you think thats odd what was the point of buying them. whatever he says about the budget he has been able to get his top signing the special player gus words not mine then dosent play to his strengths and also he dosent play the players who can help him, he says one thing then reverts back into the same way of playing even when he brings a sub on its like for like not to change the system when it cleary isnt working .all the top managers change the system if its not working thats the point of having a good squad which i believe we have also
