If they hadn't wasted so much time we'd have had the ball in play for an extra 6 or 7 minutes. As we would have spent 95% of that time giving them time to get back before Dunk, Veltman and JPVH slowly passed the ball back and forth I'm not sure it would make much difference

With 'injuries' it's not about the time wasting it's about breaking up the pressure/flow of play. IMHO the only solution that will work is to allow the physios on without stopping play. Those players that are genuinely injured will receive the appropriate treatment and be subbed if necessary at the next break in play. Those that are faking it (or who are sufficiently treated by the physio) will get up and carry on playing.

I think most other timewasting antics should be managed by stopping the clock (or adding on extra time). Goal celebrations 2 mins. Goal kicks should only take 30 seconds, throw-ins 20 seconds, keepers handling the ball = 6 seconds (its a bloody law - why not apply it?). If they take anything longer than that then simply add the time on (a la World Cup '22). I don't care if there's 20 minutes extra at the end. If they've cheated their way out of that time during the game they can carry on until we've had the alloted time. I'd go as far as having the timekeeping managed by the VAR (a la rugby).

There is an obscene amount of money sloshing around football and the Premier League. There really is no excuse not to implement these solutions.

Having gone a goal up what were they supposed to do? They know we're a good side and their best chance of success was to close the game down and defend the lead, which they did to perfection.
We were never going to be able to play through that low block, so we should have switched much earlier to getting men in the box and lumping it in there, hoping for a scrappy goal off a second ball / goalmouth scramble etc.

The best, and perhaps only way of scoring against teams who play those tactics, is from a well placed corner, or a free kick just outside the box. But then we have long been pretty hopeless when it comes to set pieces.

The fact we have beaten top sides such as the Manc clubs, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. in recent seasons is of absolutely no consequence if we can't see off the likes of Everton, Ipswich, Southampton and Wolves, especially at home.

Everton did a job on us and congratulations to them, but when they're at Goodison, there is no way those tactics will be acceptable to the fans. Should be interesting when they have to deal with a low block at home.

I can’t quite believe, with the amount of time our players spend in the opposition box, with tricky wingers, nimble footed forwards, that we have only had one penalty in 23 games this season.

Something is wrong.

Yeah our wingers don’t seem to take on defenders in the box , but the biggest problem is we have left footed players on the right side , and right footed players on the left ,so they always stop and cut inside rather Than going on the outside

Everton are in trouble they bring in Moles who knows the first thing he must do is to stop the goals going in and install a bit of new manager bounce having had 700 games in charge he knows how to do this.
To be fair - they haven't actually been letting goals in, that's not been their problem. It's scoring at the other end that's been their issue.

I wonder what the trend is across the PL? I'm sure any team gets that many. Defenders staying on their feet more?
