At the end of my tether
I still don’t understand these loans between Premier League clubs . It is not beyond the realms of possibility that both West Ham and ourselves are pushing for a European place at the end of the season. Picture the scene, to qualify we need to win the last match and them to lose . Ferguson scores for West Ham so we don’t make it……sunk by our own player !

I know it wasn't in the premier League but I'll never forget us loaning Dobbie to Palace and him scoring the goal that got them into the play offs on the last day....for them to then beat us in the semis

There IS a way he'll be back, given he's a Brighton player and out on loan. Whether he plays for the club again? Who knows. I certainly wouldn't like to make that call right at this moment though.

Agree. The great thing about this loan, is it means we don’t have to. It gives Evan and us four months apart, with Evan in a different environment.

At the end of it, both he and we will have a much clearer picture on whether the environment at Brighton is a problem, or actually Evan isn’t going to develop in quite the way we’ve all hoped he would. It’s absolutely the right move.

Difficult to understand this, I do feel it leaves us weaker.

It tends (and I have no knowledge) to support the rumours of a falling out, IF that is the case then it does seem the club are supporting the manager, I can only hope that this proves to be the right decision.

As it stands from a supporters point of view it does seem a strange decision.

I suspect it will go the Undav way, we'll want him back but he won't want to return. Bloody depressing.
Maybe, but my point is that you can't categorically state Fergie is done with the Albion – or 'No way he is coming back' as you put it. The truth is no-one knows, not even him!

It's all hypothetical, but if he leaves, whoever wants him – assuming that's because he's proved himself at West Ham – will have to pay a hefty fee for him, which can be re-invested in a player who DOES actually want to be at the club. As I mentioned elsewhere, that player might turn out to be better than EF...

You've just offered ONE explanation to help you understand it (a falling out). Or it could be that he isn't getting any game time here (for another reason) and the player/club want to change that. Maybe he wasn't fully fit and needs to be worked back up to full fitness and the club think a change of environment is the way to do that.

Does it leave us weaker? Not really – not based on what we've seen of EF this season and the other attacking options that are in the squad right now.

If I'm honest, I don't really get why people don't understand it, or why they immediately think it's the end of Fergie's Albion career. Just think of the Colwill loan and how that played out, for one of loads of examples.

If he proves himself and has a great end of this season, then we would be mad to agree a deal with West Ham as we would be directly strengthening a rival.

He will only leave if he has a meh loan period with West Ham

Colwill signed a deal with Chelsea for mega bucks of course he was going to stay there.

Or if he says "I'm onto a good thing here, I want to stay", in which case we have a strong negotiating position, but ultimately would likely have to let him go.

Undav all over again.

If he starts scoring at a serious rate eg 1 in 2 you've got to think we would get 70 odd million for him. We won't let west ham low ball us, and I'm sure others will be in for him if he's any good.

We get to matchday 38 with a possible chance of Europe?

I'll take that now!

Yup, if he really gets into good form, you'd imagine at least Arsenal and Chelsea will be in for him - both were wanting a striker this window. I'm actually surprised West Ham didn't try to get a purchase option.

Sure. But my point is that someone who seemed to be - according to some - surplus to requirements at Chelsea - suddenly because an important player for them.

I doubt Fergie is on peanuts here now and I also doubt WH could offer 'mega bucks' if you're thinking he'd go there for financial reasons.

They probably did ask but we told them to do one.

I'm just going by what all the clever people on NSC have concluded - that FH and EF have had a MASSIVE falling out and he'll be handing in a transfer request before you can say "Do do do do do do, Evan Ferguson".

As I understand it, it's not money he's motivated by right now - he just wants enjoy playing football. If he can do that at West Ham (and he wasn't enjoying it here) I'd assume he won't want to come back.

I never said it was. @Justice brought money into it.
