The ironic thing about this performance is that there will be accusations that one-day cricket has ruined the technique of the England players, but we are playing INDIA - the home of the IPL, the biggest short format competition in the world.

True, but they have haven't mucked around and marginalised their equivalent of the County Championship (Ranji Trophy) quite the way we have.

I think that it's more the fact that, in the build-up to this game, England players got tied up in The Hundred while India had a couple of red ball games to get used to the format.

That does seem pretty dumb.
